Very useful video! However, we've been trying for ever to register at Renfe to no avail as it keeps on rejecting our (non-Spanish) mobile phone numbers despite choosing the right country prefix so we cannot book any tickets. Any useful tips?

That’s very frustrating. For our UK numbers, you usually have to take the 0 off the start of the number to make it fit with the 44. Don’t know if that helps

You don't mention a change over at Madrid station. Did you stay on the same train?

We’ve never traveled through Madrid, only used it as a base for trips to Segovia and Toledo. Depends on your booking - some journeys you will have to change others not. This week we have two journeys: Granada to Seville where we have to change train in Cordoba. Then another from Seville to Barcelona where we will pass through Madrid but stay on the train. Any changes will be clear in your booking because you will get separate tickets for each part of the journey.

Like in buses for Spain- there is a chances of robbery of luggage. Is it the same in trains too?

Not in our experience, but of course there is always a chance wherever you go.
