@thrustvectoring81208 жыл бұрын
black is not a color, black is an absence of a color... Because color is defined as the wavelength of light you precieve and black is when there is no light, hence there is no wavelength to talk about, hence black is not a color. It is not considered to be a color.

When she's like "wonder if she picks anything up and she really likes it but she knows that it's not accepted" what she meant was that if Muslim women pick something that's revealing (tight,skimpy) and like it, they won't buy it cause it isn't accepted. But in Islam, we are supposed to cover ourselves in front of males and not females. We can wear shorts,sleeve less and tight in front of women. I do- we go to girl, lady parties and wear whatever we want and after coming out, we wear abayas....
@toBe8ere8 жыл бұрын
wow that's really interesting! i think the closest western women/girls could come to that is when we "want to let our hair down" so to speak and not have to worry about dressing up for anyone and just wear sweats, gym clothes and pajamas, hanging out with the girls and pigging out, and watching romcoms

Would everyone just for once stop complaining? Just for once. Yes it was awkward at times, yes Nicola didn't explain the entire meaning of hijab (that could a full length movie all by itself) but just chose to maybe not overwhelm the non-muslim viewers and said its the head dress, which still is the most obvious and eyecatching thing about being a hijabi. Yes there were problematic scenes but for crying out loud it was probably the first real experience she had made with Islam. Our religion commands us to look for good and represent Islam in a positive way, but yet when anything like this turns up i's just open season on whatever this person has done wrong this time and that time. We know this video as opposed to many, many others was not meant to bash or judge us so why do I not see appreciative comments? This video is a great start on exchanging believes and values and understanding each other better. Now I know in the light of everything that we face, this may seem like a drop in the ocean but the thing is Islamic values are new to western countries. This does not condone hatred or discrimination but guess what when a society had more or less all agreed on this is the way to live, dress and believe in and then someone comes along and says that he believes something totally different, a little bit of "Why though", "How come", "I don't understand" is normal. I had to learn this the hard way when I reverted to Islam 4 years ago. None of us have to take discrimination, but honestly, right now a bit of patience with the people that make an effort to understand/mediate between our cultures and faiths would be in order.

genuine question...If the real purpose of wearing a Hijab is to avoid temptaton from a man looking/perving on that woman (seeing as in the Muslim faith one should not "look" at a woman who is not his wife); what is the actual purpose behind covering up, yet packing on the makeup?

I would just like to add that there are those of us non-Muslims / non-hijabis who still like to dress modestly. Although we don't wear headscarves, whilst we have more freedom than a Muslim girl when shopping for fashionable clothes we always have it in the back of our mind to avoid garments that expose unnecessary flesh. On our streets there are some shockingly badly dressed women who have everything hanging out - I find that far more objectionable than a smart, modestly dressed hijabi.

since over 1400 years women among muslim ummah wearing hijab they never needed hijabi bloggers to teach them how to wear it right ? so here we have a situation telling people that how to fit in the western culture and how it should be the hijab in west culture.I mean come on you can do it it's all about keeping yourself modest :P
@forhadaziz8 жыл бұрын
Abigail Trumbo culture,tradition,race,color, nationalism has nothing to do with islam.If we are in a state of submission we can prevent ourselves going in touch of that challenge.I have noticed those girls they never appeared for me as revert sisters and i believe they are born muslims.I am afraid that those girls have such potential of seducing other muslim sisters who weren't reverts.here is the point why i am concern of mass media that they have such influence.there is no where in that video which says that it's for reverts but it does say that you can go out put some style and you can cover yourselves a bit aswell.It already occurred among west muslim world that those dressing are the righteous ones.It's not covering but with such tight fittings most man might object her.It occurred for me whilst watching that video, is a women goes out for office putting on her suit ,blazer,buttoned all the buttons of her shirt and wears an exceptional headscarf on.It's like fitting in a vast sexualized society and practicing an ideology that we think it's the right way.I dont want people to judge me as idealist or hypocrite.I have expressed what i feel.
@forhadaziz8 жыл бұрын
I haven't brought it up for discussion brother|sister I was just trying to put some light on the issue that we were discussing. May be how I think is the right way may be yours .the thing is if I am submitted I can become arabs turkeys westerns doesn't it means we are classifying things according to your statement .you mentioned the word western muslim didn't it.the moment one submits for me he or she becomes a part of islam and it's starts for him to take responsibility from that moment.I would never see him or her as westerns or black.from the state of submission no one would like to implant those ideas of their reality in order fit in Islamic procedures.it's kind of innovations going on init which Islam doesn't allow? I want you to think about muslim sisters 2 generation from now and judge them in their modesty level .don't you think about those future generations who would evolve themselves in surroundings of mass media and technology I am talking about influences.how could you be ever think of those future generations to carry on the legacy of modest muslim women ? From future It's going to sound like shijab I can smell it now.

its funny that they don't want attention from male! but putting on makeup which popped out of the scurf, made it more visible and wearing the non regular cloths among the western people, they are actually grabbing more attention from the people! and more over they've got pretty figure and faces! if you are so devoted and don't want attention then wear the actual burkha like in saudi, afghanistan etc! but by that way also you would gain massive attention though nobody will be able to see your face! so the best way for not being noticed as they want, is to dress as normally as others do and don't wear makeup! nobody will see you! i'm not just getting your point!

can people stop complaining? of course it's just a 15 mins video, how can she possibly be able to describe the entire meaning of the hijab, the origin, the dos and don'ts, the taboos and all that kind of stuff. In my opinion, this video is brief and very well informed to those people who does not know anything about hijab at all.

This documentary is awesome, it is nice that a celebrity took the time to do this and try and increase her knowledge on Muslims! In islam we are supposed to support others and not judge and 'backbite'. To some this may not be hijab, but do you know these sisters intentions or their haya within, do you know their relationship with god? who are you to comment on their appearance. As humans we are not perfect and every one is on a journey, commenting belittling comments will not help the ummah or the representation of muslims. Muslims face enough discrimination in society, without their own ummah knocking them down. Please be careful of your actions and what you say, you never know what a person is going through. Salaam Alaykum ( peace be with you)

One women said: 'as long if you don't show the shape of the body (8:05)... She's showing it herself.. We can see her bodyshapes and that's haram. These 'fashion hijabis' are all wrong. This is not hijaab! Do you think the women in the time of our prophet sallallahu alahi wa salam, wore these types of clothes!? When Allah send down the verse of that women need to cover, do you think that He meant this type of covering? When the prophet saws told the women to cover up, they would cover up, not just shape up. If you were your headscarf for fashion, and not to worship Allah, then you're all wrong... Sad enough. These girls explain as if the hijaab is just a piece of cloth on their head but it's not, it's the way you act and the way you dress, and the way a Muslim women should dress is with covering all of her awrah (everything except from the face and hands).. If they think this is hijaab, just a scarf on their head, and further rest they can wear whatever they want,

☝🏼 : then a girl in bikini who's wearing shorts and a tank top, and covering her hair with a scarf is also wearing hijaab!? No! These girls need to learn about hijaab

I honestly coudn't understand your reproach right there.. We can wear 'fashionable' clothes and stick to the caracteristics of hijab, hijab is not necessarily wearing a black Abaya, and like what one of the girls said, we live in an era where different colours do not attract anyone's attention
@ASYTutos8 жыл бұрын
+Arij Briki what are fashionable clothes for you? It must be something that hides the body shapes, and a pants is not hiding body shapes. You're saying 'we live in an area were different colors do not attract anyone's attention'.. So we can just wear bikinis be cause it does not attract anyone's attention in this area, drinking alcohol does not anyone's attention in this area because it's 'normal' in this area, wearing skintight clothes are fine be cause we live in an area were skintight clothes don't get attention!? Girl, we must live by the Sunnah rules and by the rules of Allah Subhana wa T'ala, doesn't matter what people say, if there's any Hadith or Quran verse about that women can't wear bright cloth, then there's no excuses.
@arijbriki338 жыл бұрын
+ASY FT then just give me a Hadith or a verse that states women cannot wear colored clothes.. also I clearly stated that we can wear fashionable clothes WITH sticking to Hijab's caracteristics, so the fact that you're mentioning bikinis and alcohol is quite irrelevant. I am also convinced that there's nothing wrong with wearing loose pants with a tunic dress or stuff like that.
@ummnour71218 жыл бұрын
+Arij Briki if you're convinced that you can wear loose pants with a tunic dress, then you really need to study more about the hijaab. It's still showing the body figure, do you think the women in the time of our prophet sallallahu alahi wa Salam, wore these kinds of clothing!?

What Nicola said got to me, lots of times I want to buy stuff but I just can't because they are not modest enough to wear. Once in a while I would by something that i can't wear outside like shorts or cropped shirts and just wear it in my house, but then I have to be careful of when my dad is home. Not that it is against our religion, but we are just not used to it and he would say that I'm trying to copy non Muslim life style. Anyways, it used to be a struggle at first, but since I never got attached to wearing revealing clothes it isn't hard to ignore them.
