I'm surprised no one else noticed this, the non-foil Extended Art slot in both boxes were almost identical, and mostly in the same order as well. Both boxes had: Fabled Passage, Wishclaw Talisman, Feasting Troll King, Linden, Gadwick, Gilded Goose, Sorcerous Spyglass, Castle Locthwain, and Blacklance Paragon, The only unique cards between the boxes in that slot were the mythics, and box two had Lochmere Serpent while Box one had Dance of the Manse. Seems like that slot will be able to be tracked pretty easily once more of these are opened publicly.

Two days ago I watched you open the new packs of mtg cards and it fired up my old card collector heart. I have some 1995 cards from my brother to start. Yesterday I went to the prerelease and bought a box that came with a collector pack, 5 pack prerelease, and one of those mythic rare dated cards. I definitely got my money’s worth and lots of enjoyment.

Remember kids: don't fall for the hype, only cards that see play are worth anything, and even those that will see play in Standard will be worth ZERO once they rotate. Just because something is rare it doesn't mean it's worth something, if there's no demand there's no value.

Rudy I have noticed a trend of sorts, if when you go through the uncommon slot, right before the triple fairy tale border slot, if there are only 2 uncommon, you usually pull a full art foil in that pack.

Kendra Smith I noticed that. They don’t randomize these well when packaging. As I have had the same experience. Multiple duplicate rares. Often in the same order, 3-4 packs in a row.

So the variants seem to always or almost always be paired with a nearby pack (foil borderless or foil showcase). Wrap around also feasible it seems. Boxes appear to always have 3 variants no matter what but more typically 4.

Why are foil extended art more expensive than foil showcase frame cards? As I see it, there are only 5 rares with that frame, and 48 rares with extended art, can someone explain me what's the deal?

Because you can pull the foil showcase rares in regular booster boxes, but you can only get the full art rares in this limited specialty product. Therefore more of the foil showcase rares exist when you look at the print run for the set as a whole.

Good point! I think we underestimate the impact of these collectors boosters and also the increment of foil ratio in draft boosters. While I find it more fun to have more foils and variance in draft boosters, it also makes the foil cards a less rare thing. Before this era, finding a foil The Great Henge would have been more difficult and the foil one would have been worth let say 40$. In this era there will be more foil The Great Henge on the market and it would in comparison maybe worth 25-30$ instead. Which is great from a non-investor perspective. I don't know if players will value that much the extended art frames and showcase frames.

Somewhat. A normal questing beast is currently $20 with foiled being $40 compared to it's extended art counterpart which being at $70 while the foiled variant being doubled that amount. The normal ones may go down within time. So you'll just have to wait.

Rudy, you are wrong about the box toppers. You are not counting the foils alternate art of the adventures. For example, the mythic blue fae doesn't have extended art, just alternate art, and it is the most expensive card of the set.

I don’t know, these may actually be worth it. If they are $200 a piece that’s twice as much as a normal box but it looks like on average you will get a few $20+ cards and possibly $50-$100 cards. Not to mention the fact that it’s possible to get the foil full set box topper oko or something which might pay for the box. So if my options are paying $200 for 2 regular boxes or one if these I’m definitely gambling because I haven’t seen any that were just awful. I guess it all depends on the actual value of these cards on the secondary market. If these cars are really going for the type of money that he’s talking about it’s worth it.

Foilo of Fancies will never be $100, no matter how much they dress up the card. Rudy has got to do more research before exclaiming with glee at cards that will be under $10 within a week. Artificial scarcity doesn't work if demand is zero.

You're right when it comes to this product as a stand alone item. However, the full art foil rares are not available in the regular booster boxes, but the other types of cards are (even the foil fairy tale rares). That's why those full arts command such a high price, they are definitely rarer when compared to all other cards from the print runs of this set.
