I don’t wanna say I called it. But it looks like regular Magic fans gonna turn on WotC’s Collector’s box model. Personally I don’t have enough skin in the game to care, but the new model kinda takes all the fun out of opening regular packs of magic hoping to get a cool card if you aren’t among those who can afford the collector’s packs, therefore eliminating 90% of your audience/customers. That’s just my take on it and why I haven’t bought any Throne of Eldrane. I could be wrong, but if one person thinks this way, then others do too. Not saying that the collector’s editions aren’t nice at all. I just thought they might be a one off, unique to this set. That’s my 50 pence.

My theory for Theros is the cards aren't looking good enough compared to Throne so buyers are scared. The rare and mythics in Theros so far look very hit or miss so risk tolerance would naturally fall, I think a large part of the problem is magic community tends to behave a little like a hivemind so once a few start selling low rest panic and follow. This was just my guess at the issue but you never know until we see how the set plays. Without any cards clearly at oko questing beast level I guess excitment for collectors is rightfully lower.
