I have a TnT deck that does both Hermit Druid and Devoted Druid lines. The two both work with Swift Reconfig. and Hazel's Brewmaster (and Machine God's if you choose). It offers a nice bit of redundancy while sacrificing only 2 cards for narcomoeba and dread return

I think the Valley floodcaller combo is more of an incidental combo than one you are actively searching for, adding the 2 Blue instants is not that hard and by themselves they can be very usefull. If you are in a deck that can add extra creatures like tnt can.

Chain stasis is a nice instant speed win with bloom on board. Tyvar can help. It’s a backup wincon to devoted. I’ve enjoyed it but I’d love to see which is best.

IsoRev is pretty bad but I'm surprised more people haven't been trying Kitsa + Reversal, Kitsa seems like an upgrade card quality-wise and is less committal since you don't have to imprint Reversal

With the meta shifting to more dork based decks (and magda) or decks that rely on commanders for value, cards like cursed totem, or verity circle seem like reasonable includes. Even cards like ashling flame dancer are sitting in a very good spot to shut down alot of the play patterns of decks like TnT. I think TnT will have its window of strength, but meta will shift. And people will learn that you need to run wipes or ways to gain value off its play patterns

White cards are a crutch, you have neo/ee/finale into dosan for hte same effect! And sultai is the strongest it's been in a long time, plus who needs lotho or tithe if you're just going to play null rod effects in your sacred guide sultai tymna list!

TNT never stopped having a high win% People just stopped playing it I think
@khangnguyen260
@khangnguyen260 4 күн бұрын
TnT did have a low win rate because dockside was so explosive. People just won with dockside mana while TnT did their best midranging. The deck had below a 20 percent conversion rate for a long time.
@jeef16
@jeef16 4 күн бұрын
@@khangnguyen260 but the thing is, atraxa/tivit/whatever other sans red midrangey decks in the format were still fine to operate. and decks like rogsi which best take advantage of big dockside etb's are still fast enough to resolve a naus while midrangey decks are durdling a bit
@BudgetPubStomper-lr7nh
@BudgetPubStomper-lr7nh 4 күн бұрын
@ If you are interested in my take on conversion rate take a look at my last video. I go into it from a background in game theory and statistics (old online and live poker pro) I was referring, here, to the win %. Basically I’d say that conversion rate is mostly noise and not much signal. If you see decks w high win % and low conversion rates that oughta cause you to scratch your head, right? In a nutshell; conversion rate will take so long to converge that the decks in question may not even be played by the time you can estimate EV w that stat. Win %, while not perfect, is a stat that converges much faster and can give you meaningful stats over a reasonable sample. Take a look at the win % of TnT. Last I checked (pre ban) it was quite high. Still a small sample. But w such a small sample I’d say conversion rate is roughly useless.
@BudgetPubStomper-lr7nh
@BudgetPubStomper-lr7nh 4 күн бұрын
@ I think I heard the stat for win % here on this channel around June, July, and/or August. And I saw it for myself when I was helping a friend build it. The deck had a 34% win rate when I saw it and it was just before the bans. In the summer at least.
@khangnguyen260
@khangnguyen260 3 күн бұрын
@@BudgetPubStomper-lr7nh I was not thinking of specific months but TnT's conversion rate as a whole. It still had one of the higher submission rates compared to other decks hovering around 100 submissions total. I didn't know the win rate was so high during the summer months.

ive had this sentiment for a long time but TnT was never bad, people just got super bored with the deck. I think "no more dockside = a 'bad' deck is now showing us that its not bad anymore" is a bit of a meme. rogsi and bluefarm are still doing their thing without the best mana cards in the format and bluefarm is arguably harder to deal with now than in the past due to floodcaller/borne. I dont think TnT gained any unique metagame advantage that other sans-reds didnt get as well, namely to not feel so bad about playing mana rocks to support thrasios. Atraxa proved that 4c sans red had enough pieces to compete with the grixis-centered strategies in the meta. IMO TnT got boring because a lot of builds dont try and play to a specific strength of your commanders ie not playing creatures like wingcrafter/serra ascendant or super early tymna enablers, and thrasios/bruce was a muuuuuch better way to maximize thrasios in both playstyle and game pieces. Bluefarm has kraum to reliably go over your opponents stuff, but TnT's biggest point of friction *in tournament settings* has always been making the absolute most of the commanders on a consistent basis. and I still dont think that problem is fully solved, its just that people think this deck was way worse than it actually was pre-ban.
@wizardsmix7961
@wizardsmix7961 3 күн бұрын
No one thought TnT was bad, it was just very clearly not as good as breach + dockside. Now that Kraum is far less castable, dorks have more equity, and dockside is gone the TnT decks are much better positioned than they used to be.
@jeef16
@jeef16 3 күн бұрын
@@wizardsmix7961 yea but as I said, atraxa showed that sans-red had enough pieces to compete with grixis-centered strategies, even if 4c was still a tier below bluefarm. like there are plenty of decks in general that arent on breach dockside plans that see top16 every now and then, and even the very occasional top4. my original point (which I now see was lost very much in my semi-drunk ramble haha) is that you saw pretty much no one playing TnT at all. like, even the fringe decks pop up more frequently than a pretty solid sans-red goodstuff list with access to solid combos. atraxa definitely helped people fall in love with sans-red again but imho atraxa (pre-ban) and TnT are pretty much equal in how good they are, and whats fun is they approach sans red from different angles. atraxa was just about throwing out a ton of high cmc grindy pieces, building up a stockpile of value and then winning off a nutty atraxa turn while TnT let you be a bit more dynamic and get consistent early game advantage through your commanders. I think people just got super bored with TnT because (which I did think I said well in my comment haha) its really hard to solve the problem of making the absolute most out of both the commanders. bluefarm had kraum to really maximize tymna's value by being a big flier and an engine of its own (and im back on loyal apprentice too lol), while thrasios/bruce gave you a lot of fantastic hyper synergistic value pieces for thrasios. TnT as it stands, does not maximize the commanders to the same tier as both those other decks. and I think not being able to solve that problem is why people got super bored with it to the point where it became irrationally underplayed even in my own personal experience of playing in casual discord webcam pods on a frequent basis. and compared to the inconsistency/durdley-ness that comes with a deck like atraxa, I rate them both on the same tier

Holy shit, ngl I have been wanting to play Esika to try to play thoracle as the only creature and just try to force thoracle. However, maybe itd be worth it to play sacred guide as id have a shit ton of tutors and jace of the labs so i could just play jace and wait. Its ok if its a shit card if its for a shit deck 🥹
