In all fairness, you could walk it back as being in response to the Metamorph cast to get the same outcome without breaking the gamestate; doing it in response to the "protection from everything" etb trigger would result in TOR tapped and drawing Deadly Rollick which would probably very affect game state

When Rakdos exiled cards off the top of Dylan's Library I believe that was after The One Rings protection effect resolved since he did it in response to your trying to draw and rakdos targets but you have protection so you can't be targeted

I was playin against rogsai the other day. Turn 0 dumped 5 cards from their hand got into 2 wheels a bunch of tutors with a goblin welder on the field. They tried to entomb bolas’ citadel, i countered. They brain freezed themselves, missed the citadel and scooped. It was the best “questionable” force of negation ive fired off

19:14, is that how that works? so when he cast sacrifice and poxwalkers was already on the field it hadn't been sacrificed yet to the card so would it still see the trigger happen if its not in the graveyard when the spell is being cast? My current understanding would be that the entity (poxwalkers), would have to be in an applicable zone when the trigger would go on the stack (casting sacrifice) otherwise there wouldn't be a trigger so therefore since its on the battlefield it wouldn't get the trigger to bring itself back

For those that read this and might also be confused I did some research and I guess the way we cast spells has us 1) putting them on the stack, 2) paying costs, 3) spell being considered cast now that costs are paid, which would mean that sacrificing as the cost to sacrifice would put poxwalkers in the graveyard at the time of the spell being considered "cast" so it would see the trigger. It should also allow it to come back if you are discarding it to cost on something like jumpstart but I don't think it does work on something that has sacrifice in the card but not as an additional cost. Sorry to bog down the comment section, just found that to be an unintuitive interaction to deep dive

Question: Doesn't Abrupt Decay's verbiage get around Legolas's Quick Reflexes? I haven't made it to the end, but Hexproof is an ability that causes it to be countered. I could be completely wrong. I was just curious.

Hexproof doesn't actually do the countering though, the game rules do for there being no legal target. Since game rules are not a spell or ability it can still be countered. See the gatherer rulings on Urza's Rage for an example.

In rakdos it’s really good because it’s a free 4 cards when it sacrifices. In most decks I don’t think it’s viable cause ripping only one card is usually not worth it, but that added bonus in rakdos is just a huge upside that it’s mad playable in rakdos. Almost every evoke creature is

Hoarding broodlord can be cast with rakdos out, you can find sacrifice and get 8 cards and 8 mana. If you have enough for a saw in half you can sometimes just go find your combo pieces and win

Really depends on what engines you have out, I’m on 36 creatures so I usually find a line pretty easily with no poxwalkers, but that card is just a absolute house in the deck and makes it better
