Josh good video with a normal day on a farm. Good news no major delays or break downs. I agree with you IF you have a neighbor that helps build, repair, and maintain your adjoining fence line that’s a GREAT neighbor. If not you have to do what you have to do so your livestock stays home. Great video!

From a retired Firefighter on your chain locks if you can wrap your chain to where you can put the lock in the last link of the loose end of chain then the fire dept can cut that chain link you still have your lock and chain and you loose nothing and lock everything back up.

I’m a true believer in wearing chaps when running chain saws, In my teens I’ve actually had a chain graze my leg from not wearing them, fortunately I didn’t get cut too badly, something like 3-4 stitches. Jump ahead several years later and I was running a saw with a bad clutch and I knew it but was cutting brush and with a bad clutch the chain is in constant motion, well it hit some brush and the saw kicked back hitting my leg with chaps on believe me it’s an eerie feeling when that saw comes swinging back hitting you and the chaps actually do their job. The clutch got fixed that day also..

We fed 4 round bales last year...the rest was stockpiled forage. By the end of this year we'll have 25 cows...we'll still have enough to graze them unless it snows over 6 inches. Our climate is pretty mild and our rotation on pastures really helps...moving the cows later this week!

I’m not a big fan of turkey being farm raised or wild but wild turkey has a gamier taste than farm raised turkeys, they aren’t pumped full of antibiotics and whatever else they give farm birds, also in my opinion the white meat is whiter and the dark meat is darker.

You mentioned bucket feeding the cows.. I thought you meant milk bucket feeding of young calves, where there is a useful trick to speed up their weaning. If you need to give the calves 4 pints of milk, and they are not used to the bucket, dip their mouths into the bucket by letting them suck your fingers... Then make sure you take the bucket away from them whilst it still has 1 pint left in it. This way the calf is a bit disappointed, but always thinks that the bucket holds milk, and they learn to put their heads into it much quicker, sometimes within 4 days.

TIMELESS FENCE would've negated that bent wire because it would sprung right back up w/o damage and you also wouldn't have the 4 ft weed/grass wall growing on your fence line either because you would be able to mow under the bottom wire. This is where woven wire underperforms at. Chances are now you're going to have to 1) live with those weeds, 2) invest a LOT of time getting rid of them every month, or 3) resort to chemicals, which will then make it into your beef.

Sorry according to most state laws when a tree falls across the property line. The owner on each side of the property line is responsible for the tree and all the damage that occurred on his side of the property. That means that if a big tree growing on your neighbors property falls over the property line and crushes your garage with the Lamborghini parked in it and starts a fire burning down your house . You must bear all the costs. Unless you saw that the tree was dead and advised your neighbor in writing 2 or 3 months before it fell that he had a bad tree on his property.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer4 жыл бұрын
it's all good I don't expect him to be responsible at all...this is just farming

Actually, if the tree is dead any damages responsibility of the landowner whose property the tree was on. The tree should have been disposed of when it died and because it wasn't any damage it causes its responsibility of the owner. If the tree is alive responsibility is on the person who's land it fell onto.
@armymobilityofficer90994 жыл бұрын
It depends on whether it was an act of God. Healthy (apparently) tree + windstorm = no liability. Unhealthy tree MAY make liability of the tree owner. You have a duty to maintain your property in a safe manner.
