In this video I started building the next prototype towards my production highbanker that will be for sale in time for the holidays from my website: www.utmostoutdoors.com
I will take this highbanker out for a full mining trip in Alberta and make the final adjustments when I get home before beginning the first production run of these fine gold highbankers.
As shown in the end of this video, I did a water flow capacity test in my backyard to make sure that those intending on running up to a 3" dredge through this highbanker will be able to do so.
Thanks for watching!

If you don't offer it for sale... it can't sell. Giving someone the opportunity to obtain your product or service is your Business. There will always be upgrades. People know this going into it. You're good. Make it available by contacting you for pricing. If they want it, they'll buy it. It's that simple. 👊❤

Very nice improvements! I especially like the easily adjustable hopper. That would be nice for my 3" dredge, with no large gravels disrupting the flow pattern on the sluice box. I'm glad that it is going well for you!

I will tell you something - when you design by the seat of your pants , you will never stop considering modifications due to issues in the Real World. And quite often you will go around in circles. Perhaps consider making a bare bones design , where customers can select from a range of options ( for example grizzly bars or mesh ) ( miners moss or grass ) ( mat or no mat at all ) One size does not fit all , and would be good to be able to purchase a replacement section for set ups that turn out not ideal for a certain customer.

Most miners will always make their own fixes. A basic unit with adjustability in all the elements is a starting point as you said one size does not fit all

There are definitely lessons to be learned here... I do think that I'm going to focus heavily on building the absolute best sluice box possible for my specific gold and mining situation, and let the buyer decide whether their location and situation is worthy of this design. Rather than try to build a "jack of all trades" box, I'm going to focus on what I have personal experience with and make sure that I have built the best fine gold specialist machine that I can think of. Priority being good recovery on a compact package, and over all else nothing can break or fail out in the field. I want this machine to last for people who want to set up for weeks out actually mining in the field for the summer. It's a tough order, but if I focus on what I know and do best, I think I have the best chance of success.

@@UtmostOutdoors Well if integrity and honesty were the qualities of a successful business , then you will be well rewarded. Damn , I even feel like donating something to your Patreon account - How many of the Australian dollars that I take out of my Australian pocket actually end up in your Canadian pocket in Canadian dollars after all the middle men have skimmed their share ?

I'd rather be honest about my products flaws than try to push something I don't fully stand behind, and I'm glad you see that in how I approach this channel. As it stands, I have kept 84% of all Patreon support after all fees and currency exchange, which is actually pretty good I think. I believe the KZbin Super thanks sends 70% my way. At the end of the day, I just appreciate that people are on my team and here to support in any way, such as just showing up week after week to watch my videos. I'm still humbled and a bit blown away at how this channel has grown this year and want to do so much more with it as I find the time.

Ditch the cross retainer in the hopper. Use 2 of your cams, 1 each side and tack weld little flat pieces on the mesh, running up and down, not a bar across. Think like the wood and wedge design on big commercial sluices, but modern cam action and all ally. Stoked on the "NO" bolt design. Love the cam design. A 30 sec, boltless, remove and replace hopper test mat is a must👍👌🇦🇺

Every thing scoped out today it seems . Proof is in the pudding . we Like the switch from a flare sluice horizontally to a straight sluice flared vertically for ease of installing and removing. Removing wire from the screen should be left up to the purchaser . The extra 60% of surface area of screen will be plenty for having all the water going through the screen .Lets hope your gravel will come and go of the screen with out putting ones paw in to move material . Using cam locks is a good idea never have to worry about loosing them . Have one in my wooden sluice but not as handy but cams both sides at once . Adjustability of all elements is great . At 35 pounds your customers will be looking to put adjustable wheels on one end if it is a fair hike in to a mining spot . Looking good Kyle Say hi to Chris
