@@lucaslucas191202 It probably fell on the Production Company since Kurt Russell was merely an employee, and the Production Company were the ones who negotiated with Martin. But who knows what sort of agreement was made when loaning out the Guitar - particularly what would happen in the event of any damage (I'd assume there'd be some clause regarding that). I know that the Guitar was insured so they received compensation for the value, but I can't imagine Martin wouldn't try to get some additional cheddar out of it.

The guitar smash scene kills me every time. That's a genuine one of a kind 1870s Martin that got smashed. The actor mistook it for a prop, but it was one of the original guitars on set. It;s worth $40,000, but as Martin Guitars said afterwards, it isn't about the money.

I think the characters recognize each other because they are like the actors playing them - quite famous; and Tarantino often bends the rules, makes things unreasonable, because they add to the theme or a point being made. In fact, the more famous the character, the more famous actor playing it. I think it is one of these meta things of Tarantino.

His name isn’t even Bob. Marquis exposed Bob’s lie by revealing how Minnie felt about Mexicans. He didn’t make that up. It was the whole reason he knew “Bob” was lying. Movie reminds me of that one game which I forgot the name of Something about you trying to solve a crime scene that happened in such a herbyjerby house (Too lazy to fix up) You look at the bodies, use photos to pin who killed who and travel back in time to see what happened. Some blanks you had to fill out yourself and think through peoples' motivations Pretty nice game tbh, short but interesting

I saw it in theaters on the big boi 70mm. The reason there is that long ass pause between the BBC story and chapter 4 is because there was a much needed intermission. They cut it out of the other versions. Trust me, I went out, called my best friend, and jabbered on about it until the 20 min or so were up. 😂

I don’t think you understood the story about Major Marquis and General Smither’s son: The whole point is that you don’t know if that really happened or if he is saying it to rile the General up and goad him into reaching for his gun so that he could justify shooting him. Either way: It worked.

Fun Fact about the guitar that Kurt Russel Smashed. That guitar was an actual time accurate antique guitar on loan from the Martin (Very expensive and quality guitar company) Guitar Factory and Museum which was suppose to be switched out with a cheap POS guitar right before it was smashed. Kurt did not get that memo... needless to say they were pissed and no longer loan items out for the making of movies anymore. True story google it.
