​​​@@fishfast7197Because the commonly held belief of present Christianity that the saved believers are journeying toward heaven as a destination is a wrong and severely abused notion that leads to many errors. Christians are in the realm of Christ's person and journeying toward Him, in the same way the children of Israel journeyed towards and lived in the promised land of Canaan, a land of milk of honey. In fact, the good land of Canaan is a symbol of Christ as the believers' allotted portion (Col. 1;12) in the same way the children of Israel were granted allotment of the land as part of their inheritance.

​Colossians 2:6 As therefore you have received the Christ, Jesus the Lord, walk in Him. We can walk in Him because He is the fulfillment of the land of Canaan. We cannot walk in Christ as Jesus in the physical flesh. We can walk in Him because He is now the Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45, 2 Cor; 3;17, Gal. 5;16, 25). v.7 Having been rooted and being built up in Him Being rooted means being a plant planted on soil so as to grow (1 Cor. 3;6). The soil is Christ, where by staying rooted we absorb and enjoy His grace and grow in Him (Eph. 4;15) and bear fruit (Gal. 5;22-23). Being built up (or being grounded in other versions) means He is the ground whereupon we are built and established, in the same way the temple as God's dwelling place was built and established in Jerusalem, in the land of Canaan (1 Cor. 3;16). v.8 Beware that no one carries you off as spoil through his philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ. The children of Israel, during the times they were defeated, were carried off as spoils to foreign lands (that has foreign gods). The idea here is to stay in Christ as our land and enjoy the benefit of staying there, the benefit of God's blessing (Deut. 11;11-12) and not be carried away as spoils by various teachings.
