Great video, the one thing I would have changed about your testing is the DPI. For higher polling rates 1600 really should be the minimum, with myself and quite a few others running at 3200 dpi. You can always turn down your sensitivity in game and in Windows, so it'll still feel like 800 DPI, but will do a better job of saturating the polling rate. All that said, even on my Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition, I still run 1000hz because I don't think there's a noticeable difference due to my screen "only" running at 144hz. I put only in quiotes because for the games I play I rarely hit 144fps as I game with a 3080 on a 4k screen.
@hawkittyhawk11 ай бұрын
Thanks! And 100% agreed. I often switch between 800 and 1600 dpi. And I was just set to 800 when I started. I'm also thinking about doing this similar experiment with different DPIs too...
@jordan-mn6yy17 күн бұрын
On older dx9 games i feel theyre easier to control with 500hz. Cause at 1000hz no matter what dpi i set it to it always feels either really too sensitive or not sensitive enough, and i dont think my mouse is using an accelerator not really sure. Oh and windows mouse sensitivity is like 3rd from the lowest sensitivity.

As a gamer myself I am "very" picky with my equipment of choice. I have a wired Razer Viper as it is my only gaming mouse I have with a 4ms click rate and 1000hz polling rate. I was thinking about upgrading to a wireless mouse because I hate tugging on the wire but I kept seeing 4k polling rate mice as the same as you did. At first I thought upgrading to 4k was going to be the best choice but if it's going to effect my CPU then I don't see a reason to ever upgrade the polling rate. It's like companies thinks we all have $10,000 gaming rigs and wants us all to upgrade polling rates to make a buck or 2 from us LMAO

You're 100% right. Most pros are STILL playing at 500hz or 1000hz. 4000hz is NOT necessary at all in my opinion.

sir i have intel i7-13700 but and my pc while playing the new multiplayer game calls "finals" expriences stutters while playing it, when i reduce my mouse polling rate from 1000 to 500, the stutters are all gone and its smooth, i have 2 questions that i really would be appreciated if you help me undrestand, is this weird for a strong cpu to requires 500 polling rate instead of 1000 ? and the second question is putting polling rate to 500 would have any bad effect on multiplayer experiences or not ? 🙏
@hawkittyhawk9 ай бұрын
If it's not the CPU then it could be the game itself. I love the FINALS but it's new so that might be it. Playing on 500hz MAY have a tiny amount more input latency but it's in milliseconds so it's realistically won't make a difference. If it's working on 500hz I'd just play on that for a smoother game.
@arminhg29789 ай бұрын
thank you so much for the info, i guess from the time i set this to 500, my fortnite's major stutters and rainbow six siege's major stutters have gone too, but they are now new games, but they get updates once in a while, do you think its weird with this cpu ? love to know your opinion about it 🌹@@hawkittyhawk

Very misleading here. You talk about 4k hz, but proceed to use a 2k hz mouse for your testing. You're also using a 240hz monitor. Try a 360hz or 540hz monitor with 4k polling, let us know where you're at after that. I already know the best aimers in the world are content with 1khz, and that's enough for me. A lot of this stuff falls into the same category as things like the Wooting 60he. None of the hardware is going to move you up a rank, but if you have disposable income, why not remove the doubt that your hardware is the problem? Nothing wrong with doing so, especially when many of the new 4k mice are cheaper than the Logi or Razer offerings anyway.
@mennikin6 ай бұрын
what DPI where you testing at? 1600+ DPI would make the most sense since at that polling rate you actually start utilizing the 4k/2k hz polling rate at all times.

I think you have made a big mistake. 800* dpi is NOT enough to react at peak performance of 4000 hz. You will need at least 1600dpi or 3200dpi. You can test this with razers software.
@hawkittyhawk7 ай бұрын
Yes you are correct and I apologize if I made an error. Thanks for sharing!
@donatopirrod7 ай бұрын
@@hawkittyhawk No, no problem. Just if you can, try 4k or 8k with 3200dpi. And share if you feel a difference. I do feel a slight difference, but i am unsure if it is a relevant difference, hence why i am looking around still 😂. To me, if our games run at under 400fps, i am unsure how more hz than 1000 could logically make a difference. Just cant make sense of it myself.

In the split second I checked it out, the 4000 pulling rate really stood out. But my guess is you're so dialed into it that it's not gonna mess with your aim for a bit, at least.
@hawkittyhawk6 ай бұрын
It's a fraction of a millisecond difference from anything over 1000 Hz. BUT, like I mentioned in the video, there's a visual clarity difference with higher hertz. Since my main gaming is Warzone and enemies can be hundreds of meters away, that extra clarity is REALLY nice and I'm currently using my GPX 2 at 4000 Hz and love it.

is fast swipe delay a polling rate problem ??cuz my logitech m90 makes me feel like i am swiping in slow motion when i swipe fast to check my in game corners
@hawkittyhawk8 ай бұрын
In your case, yes it's the polling rate. The Logitch M90 can ONLY go to a maximum polling rate of 125hz. When you move your mouse fast, the higher the polling rate will go up, as it does with all mice. So you're reaching the limit of 125hz when you swipe quickly and that's why it feels like it's in slow motion. The mouse is literally not updating fast enough with your movement. The only solution unfortunately is to buy another mouse. I'd recommend looking for a gaming mouse with 1000hz, which is very common today. If you're on a tight budget, 500hz will still be a big upgrade from your current M90 but will be slightly less smooth on faster swipes than 1000hz. Hope this helps!

I use razer viper I prefer 500hz instead of 1000hz, if you are playing a processor-heavy game, mouse and keyboard software and over 500hz polling rate puts a lot of load on the processor and causes you to experience sudden fps drops in-game.
