Highest DPS Class in WvW - Staff Weaver | GW2

Staff weaver usually ends up highest DPS, often by a large margin. Still not ideal for the way many comp groups run where range and positioning are not always available. Wherever possible, positioning around groups or tags is better than directly following because a weaver's defense is range and mobility, not much else. My server barely runs any comp groups and also not many commander tags which is nice, or not depending on perspective.
Compared to tempest, weaver's faster attunements, extra skills and damage oriented traits results in significantly higher damage at the cost of having almost no support utility or sustainable damage mitigation. Tempest works in many groups where weaver does not.
Build at the end of the video will not maximize damage in a tight squad context but is instead designed to be self-sufficient on boons for reliable high damage in any situation (instant 10 might stacks for power overwhelming trait and 100% fury). Always Sigil of Battle imo but the 2nd sigil is flexible. Marauder gear is efficient with passive weaver traits but can't run much more without going over 100% critical rate in many situations. I swap builds often but if you don't swap between support and damage builds, Bloodlust sigil is a little better than Stars on the 2nd staff, if bothering with stacks at all.

Hell yeah. I recently started playing FA weaver and decided to carry a staff 2ndary for situations when solo roam inevitably transitions into zerg surfing... holy mackerel the damage is unreal. Great shit!

Nice. Don't neglect the FGS though. A lot of damage + evade from 2 and 5, and 1 on it is really good too since it pierces just gotta be careful of reflects.

Also dont forget picking up FGS gives you 260 power when holding with the conjure fire attributes effect

great gameplay like always. any surprises in the store of your sleeve? i heard staff weaver already got kinda nerfed but it's hard to believe that 😀 what exactly have you disabled on the reshade settings? your colors seemed to be of a less oversaturated.

Thanks, staff weaver has basically been the same for a long time. The last nerf I remember was on Elements of Rage trait, 10% -> 5% power nerf months ago but that makes almost no difference in WvW. I think sword weaver got nerfed a while ago, at least for PvP but didn't affect staff. The complaints I see are usually about advanced PvE content like 10-player Raids because other classes have higher single-target DPS.

Would pack runes be better than Scholar runes even in a zerg comp where you have might fury swiftness from support, also wouldn't bloodlust sigil be better than sigil of stars for 250 might instead of just 50 from stars

Yes I think swapping to Bloodlust sigil is the one major change I've made since the video. The sigil is on the 2nd staff shared across all gear templates so the original idea is that I can keep the 25 stacks while swapping between weaver and support tempest. But I play support much less often and the math on the Stars sigil is just not good enough. For runes it really depends on group comp. Pack is also sharing those boons to 4 other players but if you already have 25 might fairly often I would drop it for Scholar.

Maybe, i think he is doing this damage because he is hitting multiple targets, so i think only in similar situations you would have a similar dps

It's NA. Depends on the servers too. Sometimes vs pugs there's a lot of rangers though vs guild groups there's almost none. If there's too many rangers you can switch to tempest and let them reflect.
