The now infamous D8. When I first heard this version of the song, I was stunned; I still am, no matter how many times I hear such a clean whistle note. I believe it started as a C#8 and became a sustained D8 with vibrato. That is the most surreal thing I have ever heard in my entire life. I always thought whistle notes were very quick; I had no idea that anyone could hold one for the amount of time that Dimash held his (like 4 seconds or so), let alone add vibrato. It's insane. 👽👽👽

The craziest part is that his first attempt when he seems to be annoyed with his equipment is because he was actually singing a note in the whistle register, but the mic wasn't picking it up properly, so he had to go again. I am always blown away by how emotive Dimash's voice is. It's so hard to just listen when you're being drawn into the feelings behind the song. Also, yes, he did go up half an octave during a belted high note that was already well above most people's range. Piano has left the chat.

As others have probably already pointed out, Dimash set a record for the highest note ever sung in a live concert, during this 2017 live performance. It is his now-famous D8, which is not even a note on a piano. There were approximately 150,000 fans in attendance. Dimash wrote “Unforgettable Day” himself. During the performance, he made certain to erases any doubt that this was indeed anything other than a true live performance by moving his make quickly from side to side. Dimash not only hit a D8; he did a glissando and held it for ~5 seconds, even adding vibrato to it. The Guinness Book of Records lists the highest note ever produced by a male as an E8. That was done in a studio, where the singer was just trying to hit the note. He held the note briefly after a proper warm-up and several attempts. Dimash has sung many whistle notes in the 7th & 8th octave in other live performances, but the above is his highest note to date. Because of his incredible range, over six octaves, and his vocal flexibility, he is able to make the impossible look easy. Dimash is not only considered by many to be the best singer in the world, but he is truly on another level. His voice seems limitless, and no matter how many performances of his you watch he will always surprise you with something new.

The first time, exactly. The second time, I think the general consensus is that he was aiming for a lower whistle note that he hits in another performance of this song, but the note failed, hence the head shake, so he tried again and went higher, probably intentionally.

The name of the song is unforgettable Day and it was written by Dimash when he was a teenager. So sorry that I am late to your party, I mean not even fashionably late. Please, if you should see this comment, watch Dimash's performance of this song when he sang it on The Singer 2017. I cannot put into words the difference but to me Singer 2017 was outstanding, and D8 wasn't necessary to make it so. Between the orchestra and the background singers, Dimash's stage presence during that show was epic. This show is a result of Dimash's dedication to his music and training. He still does vocal training for 3-4 hours every day...more if he's preparing for a concert.

Yep!!!... that's the D8 note... after the pianos 6 octaves he made one more.... out of the piano. If you take notice, somebody at the audience whistles... almost the same key.
