Question friends: Should we do more 'virtual interviews' like this in addition to the in-person ones? Tried to shift away from the virtual ones but if you find them helpful, we can weave them in, too!
@suzannedu4194 жыл бұрын
I don't mind these types of interviews - as long as I can see the interviewee live. What I don't like is a straight audio format. Thanks and great interview!

I agree with above comment. Virtual is great as long as their is video! I like the style of splitscreen you have for showing both yourself and Dr Perlmutter.

Dr. Perlmutter has come a long way from 18 years ago. We both shopped at Food and Thought in Naples , Florida . Always a pleasure to converse with and willing to share information. Well done and he help my best man diagnosed with ALS properly helped him live 14 years more , thank you Dr. Perlmutter !

I think one of the main takeaways is that we need to experiment to see what makes us feel better rather than just doing what we think we're supposed to be doing or feel pressured to do or are told explicitly to do by social authorities. So many people would never even think of not watching the news because it's what they're supposed to do and they're worried about what others will think, but how will you know what its effect is on your mental health if you don't try? Take your life and your health and well being into your own hands. I think more and more people are doing this now and that's really inspiring.

Workout in progress. Brain work in progress. Thanks for this dialogue, listening to another brilliant interview with Dr Perlmutter after his latest podcast with Dr Hyman. Simply love his books and calm aura, especially we have Alzheimer's and dementia diseases in our family. 100% absolutely for switching off world news 😅 our family did not keep a TV for the last decade for that very same reason.. and we are in the middle of the middle east where daily politics is highly stressful and demoralising on the psyche!

Mike thank you so much for this bringing such compassion for present and past self and others to this subject that you illuminate so well with the latest high quality evidences... Also the idea of our brains being so vulnerable to being deliberately hacked in so many ways was powerful. The concept of usefulness in evolutionary survival of insulin resistance.... stocking up from autumnal fruit harvest for a long cold winter gave me a forgiving acceptance of my body... The addressing of brain structure and growth following childhood trauma was so brave I have up to now found that a missing piece in the whole picture of food addiction and a holistic approach to recovery and increasing performance health and happiness being connected in a stressful world... Many thanks to you both..

Very grateful for this amazing information. Knowing about this disconnection syndrome changed my thoughts about myself (self blame, negative self talk). This motivates me to clean up my sleep higiene , eat better and exercise more. Very empowering to know we can take control of our physical and mental health at the same time. Great content 🙌😃

Great interview. I don't agree with some of what Dr Perlmutter says regarding the microbiome and such, but this content was gold. I might buy the book. One thing I caught was when he said the phrase "our colleagues." It sounded to me like he was considering you a peer, Mike, and that means you're doing the right thing with your interviews and videos, providing quality information that people find truly helpful, or at least lead them to a path of healing and improvement. It might sound odd, but I felt proud for you at that moment -- you're making a difference and it was cool to see it recognized. :D

Great video Dr Perlmutter & High Intensity Health ...such great information!👏👏👍💕 Regarding craving sugar: When I did my 10 day water fast last summer (while on KETO). my gut bacteria must have changed too. I have never craved any sugary processed foods since. I realize our little gut bug critters also send messages as to what they want to feed on. Don’t toxins & parasites also hide in candida etc & hide in biofilm? I heard toxins can also get stuck in our bile affecting thyroid or something like that. I thought they can cause inflammation too. Yes many things affect us with inflammation & control cravings. (Dr Pompa, Dr Jay Davidson my sources )

I’ve been on keto and modified carnivore for a couple years. For about 18 months I had a love affair with dark chocolate. Strangely, the cravings waned. Now, the same 56% cocoa dark chocolate is too sweet, so it isn’t as pleasant as it used to be. Something has changed, taste buds, gut microbiome.. ??

I eat the 100% one (difficult to get) and most people can't stand it. I used to not like the 96% ones. My taste changed a lot from eating sugar + fruit to fruit only to keto with only berries. I don't even have cravings anymore or barely ever have them.

Great interview! I totally dig Dr. Perlmutter! Mike, I see a mini kettle bell on your shelf behind you. Is that merely decorative... used as a paperweight, or does it have training application? Like, finger strengthening? I'm serious. I'm a musician, and many of us use these little spring-loaded squeeze thingies to build hand/finger strength. Just curious... Also, @53:15 , what Perlmutter was speaking about instantly made me think of the sci-fi book, Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. People are lost in the Oasis; they prefer it to real life. It kinda gave me a jolt to hear that there are actually people in the world today who need to be reformed away from "living" inside their virtual reality-sphere. Once again, Science Fiction becomes less Fiction and more Non-Fiction everyday!

Loved the virtual interview. Would rather have a virtual interview with Dr Perlmutter than no interview. Just wondering I deal with silent rage and I believe it's related to Magnesium. When I'm doing Keto well I can't hold on to Magnesium. I just began a Boron supplement hoping it will help. Anybody have any suggestions on how to increase Magnesium levels. By the way my serum magnesium level is normal but I run a little low with potassium.

A big BRAVO for this talk! And I love that he told you, Mike! Modest Mike. Yes, it is about you. It is about us all. We should share our experiences for common good. When I listen, I could also address my own issues through your story and recognize where I am making mistakes in the path. It matters. It is good for you to tell it aloud, the voice of your mind. It's no secret that this is my favorite channel about health topics. Yet, you are gradually but steadily making progress in terms of establishment in the area. The end result will be LEAD, I hope. I especially honor that you are not calling specialists for the sake of a content continuum. Rather, you are making a surprise for your audience with gems like this episode. Quality over quantity. Thank you, Mike, for spreading the educational spectrum and awakening good in us 🙏

It's probably temporary and if you chose to eat sugar more and more you'd get back to where you were before and eventually insulin resistant. I don't view my current adaptations to fasting and ketosis as a bad thing. I wouldn't want to go back to eating what I used to or as often as I used to. This feels much more natural to me.

I agree negative thoughts create negative impulsive reactions. It brings to mind that the entire premise of Christianity is the assertion that YOU ARE BROKEN. You are a wretch. You deserve eternal damnation, but I provided you with a savior in Jesus will somehow absolve you of your sins. Billions have been and still are tormented and enslaved by these nonsensical and barbaric beliefs. You want to get better? Discard these ridiculous chains and embrace reality. It took me till I was 35 or so to break free of that. I realize my comment will offend many, but this is like a big elephant in the room. Even if you are a believer you simply cannot deny that this is the doctrine you embrace. It's very damaging.
