I had a lot of issues growing up and even spent 3 years in a theraputic boarding school getting the therapy I needed. I am beyond grateful because in my knowledge, I was one of the last orphans to get adopted to a family living in the US.

My friend's grandma had a heart attack and was in a hospital two blocks away from the shooting. My friend knows someone who works where the shooting happened, and he said she was was terrified of all the blood. To think someone was orphaned is very sad. Rest In Peace to the parents

Oh man I feel for this kid. I am in my 30s and expect to have my first child in my 30s thinking I have my whole life ahead of me. I've used the time before my 30s to find myself and know what I want out of life. So when I have children I'll have no regrets in my mind of what could have been. This is heart wrenching! I started crying hearing about this as I have a 21 month old daughter. I turned 40 in May and just had my end of life documents notarized because you never know when your time is up on Earth!

This right here is TOO CLOSE. TOO CLOSE TO HOME. The fear in me that this criminal could have walked into my business to hurt my family and employees. To think that just 6 months ago I worked in highland park. To think about the gun threats that were made at my school when I was 16. To think that my sister will go to that school and it can happen in a school too. An affluent community doesn’t make us safe. A poor community doesn’t keep us safe either… What does???? WHAT DOES???

I’m 35 with a 2 year old daughter. She, my husband and I were at the fireworks when a group of teenagers not 20 feet away dropped a few lit fireworks that flew sideways into the eh crowd and hit a bunch of people. I was so scared and angry. Then I got home and heard about this poor family and this poor kid who has no parents now and must have been so terrified with everything going on around him. It put my life into perspective. Made me feel lucky to have been just angry and not dead.

I've never cried so much but hearing a small two-year-old boy now orphaned, hurts me because it hits close to home. My son is also two years old and having to grow up with no parents is the hardest thing for a child. I hope for the best for Aiden and the families affected by this tragedy.
