Back on 74 is a British EDM track, message in a bottle is a track by The Police. So this is Ren mixing 2 completely different artists and some rap into a whole new thing. And doing it so seamlessly that you wouldn't know how it's possible.

Enjoyed your reaction! Back on 74 is by Jungle and is an incredible song. Ren has mashed it with Message in a Bottle by The Police. Both Sting and Police are big influences for Ren. The whole vibe with these super backing singers, uber cool bassist and the jazz cub type setting, what a brilliant song!

Covers are a performances of a song by others artists/musicians/songwriters/music group an arrangement by the individual musician or music group. Mashup are the same except we are parts of multiple songs arranged together with interesting or great transitions. When Ren does a retake he adds his own creativity beyond arrangement such as adding rap bars (poetry) or his own lyrics. Hence retakes. I concur. Smooth and brilliant.

And the BTS on Patreon says that it was 10 days from having the idea to writing, composing, and filming it over xmas/new year.

You should look up The Police's official video for "Message in a Bottle." From the Reggatta de Blanc album in 1979. Ren takes a lot of influence from The Police and Sting (sang and played bass in The Police). You would know the song, but the video is just fun. Ren did some hawt Stingish volcals. He did a great job slowing down the beat to both Jungle's "Back on 74" and "Message in a Bottle" and combining the key for both and slipping in the riff from "Message in a Bottle" into "Back on 74" in the 2nd section. And then throwing in his own cheeky, double entendre rap section. Ladies and Kai on bass❤

My history of rock and roll and blue class in college was amazing. My teacher actually went to Louisiana and met a lot of famous blues singers. It was incredible hearing the stories. I've been following your reactions to REN for a long time. One thing I've learned about you is that you're not a fanboy. If you don't like something or even hate it, it's clear to see and notice. As a German, I think that's great - you put your opinion straight out there and then other can deal with it or not. I'm very happy for Ren that rappers/musicians appreciate him. His music has soul! You lacked that in fun music, but that's different from playing with music. You could loosen up a bit, but praise from you weighs a lot. Thanks for the great reaction. Did you say you were 2 in '99? I was at Woodstock '99 and if there were more trees and water it would have been a complete experience. My uncle was at the original Woodstock and I would give my right hand to be there. Santana, Jimi, Jefferson Airplane, etc..
