Definetly a clean hit but almost feels like it shouldn't be, I mean first down or not Rogers was clearly going to the ground, the play was about to be over and he still got hit (thankfully not hard the defender clearly wasn't trying anything dirty), so I can also understand why the Packers player would want to "defend" his QB, just one of those awkward plays where even when its clean in the rule book it still has the potential to ruffle some feathers so to speak in game.

But you seriously can’t blame a guy for trying to tackle a QB when he’s running so close to the end zone. The defense shouldn’t be harassed and berated for doing there job. Defenders can always avoid it by setting a real tackle, not a dive. If you dive head first at a QB who is guaranteed to slide, you're risking a serious penalty. If you prepare a form tackle, they'll either slide in front of you, or you tackle them, and if you can't put a form tackle on an NFL QB, you shouldn't be an NFL defensive player. Lazy dive tackles are understandable when offensive players do them after a pick, but I'm always shocked at how much they're accepted by linebackers and DBs.

I hate how when a QB slides and gets hit by a defender already committed, it's a penalty. QB can run until the last possible instant and start sliding well after the defender can no longer stop himself and draw a penalty. Given the position of their bodies, the head is just about the only place the QB is going to be hit when he slides... defender aims low to avoid a penalty and the QB slides, it puts his head right there. I'm all for player safety, but that doesn't hardly seem fair to the guys trying to play defense.

That is one of those I have a hard time with. If it was a fair catch, I would 100 percent agree. The tackler is aiming his shoulder pad square in the middle of guys chest. The returner ducks down at the very last second while catching the ball. So instead of a clean hard hit to the pads, it becomes a hit to the head area.
