What blows my mind the most out of all this is when you're working an absolutely for sure stretch of virgin ground and come across a decades-old encrusted sniping hook or broken-off shovel head. If those old timers would have had sniping tubes or goggles those spots would have been nearly goldless for y'all lol! GL for 2022.

@@officialtassieboysprospecting You have no idea how we envy your opportunities to work virgin & near virgin hunting grounds. There are virtually no gold-bearing locations left in the US that haven't been nailed, mercuried, barb wired, tin canned or pull tabbed to death. It must be a wonderful feeling to hear your detector beep and know it's odds-on gold over foil.

very nice job for all of 2021 I believe that nugget is a specimen because of the quartz in it that makes in even more valuable then just the gold .thank you for sharing the adventure and many heavy pans in 2022 the best of luck to you .

I remember all these videos , they all got me pumped to get out , last week I found a spot with really fine gold and got 2.5 grams .. that fine gold really added up , around 60 bits per pan … going back this weekend

I often wonder how much water you get to swallow in your enjoyment of finding nuggets. You are right about the distribution of that gold. Larger pieces settle easier and don't need as deep or sharp a crevasse to lie in. Unlike smaller bits that really need dead calm to settle.

I love the gold sniping obviously but the whole scenery and adventure part of your vid’s is incredible!! When you found the grave that was magic! Would be worth having a family trip to Tasmania to at least check out this scenery. Awesome!!!

Just a note on that gold pebble shown at 12:48, it's very well-rounded, meaning that it has been transported by water, smoothing the edges. Even the quartz fragments within the pebble are smooth on the pebble's surface, and quartz has a hardness of 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, so that would require some significant smoothing by stream action. What I think you may have stumbled across is an ancient streambed, which is now elevated, and may or may not be lithified (turned to rock) and this piece weathered out as the pebble that formed long ago.

Great compilation of a terrific year. I was wondering if those bigger pieces were found in faster water. I would surmise it's the only way they would move to that location. Maybe it's just from fast flood water that drops them.
