@tarps2, naturally Finland might have got through even without the help of GB by taking at least one point from Switzerland later today, but this sure was a pleasant surprise. I was sure, that Austria would not have big problems aganist the GB, which already had renegated from the A-pool. But the Brits played with a great heart and made their best game in this tournament. This win was not just because of luck, the Brits played well. Congfatulatins to them !

I think Austria had a long night. So silly to lose against the loser of that group. If you watched the game, then you saw that the passes where bad, a lot of funny offside of UK. The defense of Austria was like a Swiss cheese 😂

I didnt watch a lot of Austrias matches, but from what i did see the goalie seemed really good. Also the look on the brits face on that save is hilarious, his soul left his body realising it didnt go in, the utter disbelief.

Austria epic fail, losing to relegated GB and give Finland quartfinal

This was big win. Most people, me included, thought that Austria would roll over Great Britain with ease... After all, Austria had performed surprisingly well, almost beating the Switzerland which has a great team, forcing Canada to an overtime and taking historical win over Finland... Great Britain which had not received even one point on this tournament, should have been an easy task for Team Austria, but Great Britain were hungry for that one win and they definitely deserved it. As much as I was rooting for the Austria to qualify for the quarter finals, I also hoped that Finland would make it. I want to congratulate both teams for their performance and thank Great Britain for making Finlands qualification certain 😅 Finland doesn't have a great team this year, I'm not expecting us to reach the medal games, but qualifying for quarter finals is always great feel.

That‘s Austria how we know it at home :-) Before the tournament avoiding relegation would have been a success. But today this was a chance that may not will be happen again in the next years and they failed pitfully. But that‘s Austrian fate as this happened for example in Sochi 2014 and also to our national teams in other sports.

Ja, ich dachte ich sehe nicht richtig. Österreich verliert gegen GB. Wir haben gegen Finnland gewonnen :) Ich dachte eher, wir, die Schweiz verliert gegen Finnland und Österreich gewinnt. Gegen Finnland gewinnt man nicht so einfach, das ist eine Hockeynation. Schweiz Deutschland wird ein grosses Spiel, Nachbarliebe auf dem Eis :) hi hi beim Fussball habe ich damit keine Probleme, aber doch nicht auf dem Eis gegen Deutschland verlieren. Die sind auch schon längers auf Niveau. Österreich hat so viel Berge Schnee und Eis, die gehen wohl lieber mit dem Schlitten raus :D

Guys, i have a dark theory About this, not a happy one. You know, if the austrians won this one they would go into the play offs instead of finns, Who this year have been, well, pretty mediocre. Now, finns are super secure and want to go to the playoffs but they just couldnt. Now, here is where the theory begins.. What if the finns, contacted the brits and actually payed them? Like a good Finnish money? Or even crazier, but may be truthful, what if the british goalie was secretly the Finnish one in disguise under that helmet and mask? That could be True i mean, why would Austria win to Finns and almost to Canada but lost to this easy and weak team? Isnt that like kind of suspicious? I Just think that these theories may be True.
