@@denzel270 Yeah and the Tories made it worse instead of better, they have had every opportunity to help us and they have gorged and helped themselves. If there was little in the cupboard fair enough, there's just crumbs now. If you come into government you accept the responsibility of the previous government and move on to improve it - you don't keep flogging a dead horse weeks on end in PMQs just because you've no answer - improving the economy and living standard is in their manifesto - that is their mandate. They haven't and they wont. If you want to blame the past you can blame the 80s and Thatcher - of which THAT recession we have actually and factually NEVER recovered from.

Every PMQs should start with an example where ministers or govt have misled Parliament/the public to remind us that lying has never stopped. The 3 horse race line was good, but he still lacks more than a little fighting instinct. Starmer rattles through his prepared lines and misses obvious retorts. It just comes across a bit lack lustre at times. Twice RS mentioned labour economic disaster, neither time did Starmer rattle off any examples of how disastrously the Tories have managed the economy. I also love how whenever major worldwide events happen the Tories claim it's completely out of their control, but the 2008 crisis, triggered by the collapse of Lehman Brothers in the USA, is entirely the fault of the Labour Party... Then later state that "All they do is politics, no action". Politician's discussing politics should hardly be controversial and as the opposition there isn't exactly much they can do in terms of action.

Weak opposition, weak government. The Tories have only looked after their own since well before the Thatcher years, but fail to realise their previous problem (the disenfranchised working class) is being replaced by a new one much closer to home (the disenfranchised middle class). Meanwhile, Labour is full of career politicians who say whatever it takes, but never take the time to add up (as there's no soundbites in good planning). No time for either Rishi or Keir. One is rich enough to not need any good ideas, and the other is all populist soundbites as policy. Absolute shower from both sides.

In the same vein, the only difference between today's Daily Mail and Guardian readers is that one set calls the other 'mummy and daddy'. Given enough time, the exact same people. Used to be different before the Guardian lost its roots by moving, but that was a long time ago. Anyone who thinks any politician in either of these parties has anyone's best interests in mind above their own political career and/or personal wealth and/or personal influence is in dreamland, as is anyone who still votes on the basis of 'that's how my parent's voted, they are the party that will do good by us' or some other crock of wishful thinking. I do keep up with what's going on and make informed votes... and that's why I'll not be voting for either of these two slimy and self serving showers.
