No. On the contrary. There is a clear list of terms considered unparliamentary. A good orator can work with that. Sometimes clever politicians skirt very close or too close.... and the intervention of the speaker increases the emphasis. The tradition of parliamentary language is an old and noble one. And it has a place in the UK legislature.

We vote for the Conservatives because they're better than the alternative. It's a lesser of two evils set up at this point. A vote for any other party (besides the atrocious Labour Party) is a wasted vote.
@swanchamp51362 жыл бұрын
The country needs to shake the tribalism mentality of politics treating it like football were you have 'your' team and you back them to the hilt instead of voting for the party that actually has your interests at heart or at least in policy. Unfortunately when it comes to the next important election the MSM will be singing his praises again hoping people will have forgotten what happened.

@@justjames1111 Righteous: acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin. 2a : morally right or justifiable a righteous decision. b : arising from an outraged sense of justice or morality righteous indignation.... I don't think Kier Starmer can claim to be Righteous... I'm thinking of the "pledges" he made to become elected leader, then dropped afterwards... I'm thinking of him saying he wasn't a Zionist, on a radio interview, before being elected leader, then praising apartheid Israel afterwards... I'm thinking of him conflating anti Israel with antisemitism (falsely), then expelling Labour Party members who oppose the crimes of Israel as "Antisemites" (including Jews!, also falsely)... I'm thinking Righteous Indignation is reserved for The Righteous... Kier Starmer doesn't come close to qualifying, and cannot erase his past actions...

My point Andrew is that it is about time we heard something from Starmer that reflected some of the anger many people feel at the actions and lack of morals of this tory govt.

To be fair he would be an order of magnitude better than any of the alternatives at this point in time. Sure his policies don't suit everyone in fact I doubt there are many who would find his polices ideal across the board. But I would estimate that there is an overwhelming majority of people on both sides of the political spectrum who would find his policies an acceptable compromise
