I enjoyed a lot during watching this great vedeo. How fine old archtecture of city . How nice greenary over there. Nice river. Everything is fascinating. During watching it seemed that I was live there. Again thanks 👍. I fom India.

31:44 On sunny days, you can take a small train that runs on the track you see to the left, or rent a rowboat or pedal boat to go out on the lake, or sometimes pedal-powered family road vehicles. If you go near big trees early in the morning without a dog, especially in summer and fall, you'll probably see red squirrels.

Man, those andouillettes, even if you paid me money I wouldn't eat that. I'm french but I can't do this type of food. Older people usually can handle it, not younger people me. Steak and fries with peppercorn sauce is the way to go. Nice video!

8:18 Hardly anyone takes this wheel except tourists, because for 1/8 of the price, or just by walking, you can climb one of the two main hills (Fourvière, the praying hill, or Croix-Rousse, the working hill) and get a much better view of the whole city.

Really good stuff guys. 👏👏 Like you I try the local dishes but they aren't to everyone's taste, so kudos for having a go. We have made friends with Greeters in a couple of French cities & visit Lyon next month so they will no doubt introduce us to more gastronomic offal!! La Tassee is right near where we stay but seems is now closed which is a shame.

As a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, I think maybe quenelle is an acquired taste so don't let your first taste turn you off. Lyon also has many delicious dishes made with caramelized onions or different types of sausage so do try those sometime. The bouchons are good, but honestly it's hard to get a bad meal in Lyon so even cafes or food halls are top notch. Even prepared food from the grocery stores is yummy!

Hi Linda, thanks for commenting! I agree....I didn't feel like we had enough time there to even scratch the surface of just how good the food scene is there. Hopefully one day we can make it back to dive in a little deeper!!

If you plan to ever come back in Lyon, don't forget that in early december there's the festival of lights in the whole city and if you climb up the hill of Fourviere again, incase you haven't noticed, you can take the funicular instead of walking.
@mattnrach20162 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah we knew there was a funicular but didn’t think the walk would be bad. We’ve heard about the festival but this trip was last minute, like really last minute so our overall planning wasn’t up to speed.

Thank you for sharing your experience at Lyon, I loved the restaurants, we are visiting this month so I had a quick question...regarding the COVID test, what is that you needed to do before going back home, like with the results, how do you get them and show at airport?
@mattnrach20162 жыл бұрын
Hi Abix, thanks for watching and I’m sure you’ll have a great time Lyon just like we did. We appreciate the kind words. We filmed this in December and had to take a Covid test before heading home. At this time you may not even have to, to be honest. I would just check and see via google. I’m sure it won’t be a big deal.

22:18 Here you see only 1/3 or what you could see on a clear day: No Dombes, no Alps, no Monts du Lyonnais in the Horizon. No high speed train viaduct nor nuclear powerplant in the distance… But you are lucky, because sometimes the visibility is 1 meter in the fog.
