Wow guys. Amazing. Gonna order one even though I just got my C7 in October. Not having any real issues but I do have a 4800 sq ft house and I like to be state of the art on my HA stuff which is my retirement hobby. I have to tell you I am so impressed and pleased with Hubitat. I was a ST power user - you know the story. There is just SO much I can do (once again). I have all your cool apps plus many ways of automating including bringing over all my old Webcore pistons for more sophisticated stuff. I really like your approach as a company and how you do things - keep it up ok? Thanks again - a fan.

I am absolutely impressed with the increase in range I've experienced. I have several Z-Wave devices in this 3,000 sqft house that were originally 3-4 hops and now they're 0 or 1.

I have the C-5 and this is by far the most tempting upgrade yet.. I love that you added antennas. I had to add some repeaters to get to some of the further away devices in my house, this should help!

I loved the C5. Everything about it worked great. Switched to the C7, and after having experience I was able to set it up easier, with cleaner less complicated programming. Strangely the new one has issues where at least once a day it is very unresponsive, and sometimes takes a minute like it stayed up all night and can't kick into gear. No programming was brought over from older hardware, all manually reentered very basic rules etc.. I'm tempted to try this one simply to see if it is any better in that area. If you can say with any comfort that it would be, I'll surely get one.

The radio signal strength is something that did not work well for me with the c7, so the change on the C8 sounds fantastic.

I have the C-7 and I really can't say enough good things about Hubitat. I still have a SmartThings hub (ugh) that hosts a total of 5 devices, down from its original 87. 82 devices hosted now on the Hubitat for three years with the # growing every month. Great to see this upgrade and full Matter support! Can we get Rboy rental lock manager going please????? ;)

I can't believe anyone uses home assistant when Hubitat exists. I've been using the C5 for years and will be upgrading to this model. Quick question on the antennas, I'm assuming it uses the standard antenna connector? I am mounting my Hubitat vertically, so I want antennas that come straight out. The included antennas don't look like the ones that can bend 90 degrees.

Can you share the specs of the CPU and memory? I have a C-5 now and want to know what improvements I will see in processing power if I upgrade to a C-8

I believe the processor and memory are the same. Actually it is very rare for the processor to operate at above a handful % of its capacity anyway, so it’s definitely not a weak link in the automations chain. Memory is another thing with memory leakage a common issue on Hubitat and regular reboots a necessary action for many users, as you can read all over their forum. So it does seem a shame the unit doesn’t have significantly more memory to try to at least operationally delay that issue.

@@aardvarkmindshank thanks for the info. Yeah I am getting memory alerts of low memory from time to time and continue to add more IoT devices. I was hoping for a bump in specs to address this 🙁

Excited and disappointed on the “Matter” announcement. Excited it is coming in 2023, disappointed it is coming sometime in 2023. Other than that, great news.

Unless there is a faster processor on the hub, this is window dressing, because the ones I have now are just dogs and very unreliable.
