Highlights: St. John's 84, Syracuse 72 (Dec. 13, 2015)

A spirited St. John's effort electrified Madison Square Garden on Sunday as the Red Storm downed long-time rival Syracuse (7-3) in the 90th edition of the storied college basketball series. Federico Mussini (Reggio Emilia, Italy) led five St. John's double-figure scorers, posting 17 points with five 3-pointers as the Red Storm won its third-straight game before 13,473 fans at MSG and improved to 6-0 at home this season.

St. John's on fire from the 3-point line (and beyond). I also notice St. John's played a double-post, with three players on the perimeter capable of knocking it down. One of the post players was capable of creating a shot. So, St. John's fed the post, the other post player dove to the basket as did the perimeter player on the opposite wing. The post player with the ball either kicked it out for a three, passed to the cutter from the wings, or put the ball up himself. Lots of good things could happen including offensive rebounds. I'm thinking Chris Mullen has been waiting thirty years to beat the Syracuse zone.
