Thannks for this. So many of us didn't have access to the game. Your highlights are always great. UConn is in development mode. The freshmen are what we need added to the Core Four. Hopefully Caroline will be back after the break.

This is the type of game I wish Geno would have played just the reserves from the mid 2nd quarter on. Just leave Edwards in since it's her homecoming.

Should have played Crestwood Prep ( High School ) instead , couple of their players are going D1
@DoUEvenLift10 ай бұрын
A lot of crestwood/OSBA players play in the OUA and further develop. TMU has players who played OSBA basketball. Crestwood is good, but they’re not better than a top 10 USports team. They just have 100x more potential than the USports girls

I'm sorry, Toronto Met? I get that you'd like to give Aaliyah a homecoming, but this is not a legit pairing. This is a game you schedule as an exhibition.

Toronto Metro …. is that a bus company? … these players are employees of the this metro system? .. no wonder they’re losing 64 to 9 with 2 minutes to go in the half .. Maybe a middle school team could have given them a better fight

I was at the game last night. The TMU ladies played their butts off and should not be made fun of. They kindly accepted the invitation after PITT pulled out knowing full well what the result would be. However, they did it to honor one of their Ontario players. They deserve credit for giving their all and not insults.

@@violetforpb No you’re not wrong per se. TMU is undefeated so far in their conference (Central Ontario) but that’s just because they also haven’t faced superior eastern ontario teams like Carleton, Queens and Ottawa yet. They’re somewhere between the 10-20th best team in the country, depending on the rating used. Still a really good team but not Canada’s best. Some of our best Canadian teams have beaten NCAA D1 teams before. The men’s Toronto team beat Harvard just back in August of this year

Lost some respect tonight for coach Geno. Full court press almost the entire first half!! Was his intention to humiliate the host team? Turned it off just before the half.
@FabrizioPati-i6f10 ай бұрын
When I played in the Italian Serie D, several times we played against an A1 team, and they always committed themselves as if they were in a game for 2 points, and we would have been angry if they hadn't.
@BuccWylde10 ай бұрын
It doesn't matter the opponent, you always play to your abilities. Slacking against a weaker team is more of an insult. Most teams want the other team's best, to test them. Also, it gives UConn a chance to practice schemes that they will want to employ against top competition as well.
@violetforpb10 ай бұрын
this is extremely disrespectful, you cannot determine the intention of this game based on how uconn played, it was said this game is an exhibition like, fun and enjoyable for both teams and the crowd, they were supposed to play Pittsburgh but the team had a coaching change which resulted into them flying to Canada and playing TMU, a court close to Aaliyah’s hometown and a place she played in years ago. Geno wanted his players to do well, they’re not gonna move back and let another team win or get away with scoring, what does that say about their defense? the other coach was happy, excited for this opportunity, so we’re the players, let’s be happy Aaliyah got to play in front of her people. and stop making conclusions.
@davidcade153310 ай бұрын
UCONN is still one of my favorite teams to watch, but I stand by my comment. I didn't assert Geno was trying to humiliate the other team, just asked the question. I perhaps should have left that part out. However, his decision to full court press the whole first half was still poor sportsmanship in my opinion.
@violetforpb10 ай бұрын
@@davidcade1533 the other team is a champion in their league, geno’s words, in uconn’s recent episode he spoke about how he didn’t expect the game to end with that score, it’s a homecoming game, not a competitive one, TMU is undefeated, look at the positive side of this, big player development for both sides, including the freshmen, TMU had a tactic that didn’t work against uconn, which is shoot many threes. You cannot say Geno humiliated the other team, Canadians don’t play like Americans, their style differs but the game left both sides happy, so regardless whether you felt this game was humiliating, it tells you otherwise. It was positivity and development all around. TMU played against a hall of fame coach with the most successful program in women’s basketball history, geno called them and they said “absolutely”. The TMU coaching staff knew what they were getting into, would you call South Carolina’s dawn staley or LSU’s kim mulkey playing style humiliating? because they sure score over 100 points in every other game. it’s part of the game, feelings uninvited, you go there and do your best to win, even if it ends in a 50 point deficit.
