Highline Trail, Glacier National Park, Montana, USA [Amazing Places 4K]

The Highline Trail is one of the most scenic and popular trails in the Glacier National Park. The hike is 11.5 miles long, begins at Logan Pass, follows the west side of the Continental Divide to the Granite Park Chalet and the Loop trail. Side trip was added (a mile each way) to the stunning Grinnell Glacier Overlook, offering spectacular view 1000 feet above the glacier.

***** thanks for the wishes :) I worked in IT for 20 years for a reasonably good salary. I quit several months ago to focus on what I love most, and I am burning my lifetime savings. I need to find some resources/income to keep me going, otherwise in a year or so I will have to go back to work. To save resourses I do not have health insurance. This is only one example of shortcuts that I take that most people would take only for something they extremely value.

I was lucky to have a father who took us on a 4 week vacation once a year, and being from the suburbs of Chicago, going out west was our favorite. We arrived the night that campers were attacked and killed by Grizzly bears. On the news the next morning we heard the terrible news. The incident made national news, and the story appeared in Readers Digest, also. The small bells on our backpacks seemed very inadequate. On a later trip to the park, we had finished breakfast and were getting ready for the day, when a Black bear came into the campground, helped itself to some food on a table,and politely wiped it's nose with a hanging towel, and left. Funny!!!
