That mic drop was the end of the 4-cover-song EP recording session, where she demonstrated much more of the range and variety of vocal styles she can use, including her beautiful voice, lovely falsetto, and gritty growly Rock Queen vocals. So it did double duty at the end of this song. WELL DONE!!

Dude, love it when I see someone get knocked back the same way I was when I saw this girl make this song into so much more. You're right, she owned it? Edit: watched this review multiple times. You have great expressions that always happen right on time and an appreciation for old-school grit and soul. But my favorite moment in this reaction was at about 5:03, that head shake smile. The smile that happens after you witness something that brings joy and amazement. The kind of smile a roller coaster fanatic has as the cars pull into the dock when the ride is over and the adrenaline dopamine rush is subsiding..."yeah, that was a good ride!". Mic drop required!

Me too. When I 1st heard the original I had no idea it was the longest number 1 hit ever. I can't understand what people are into today to make it such a big hit. Most everyone who comments on this says Courtney blows the original away, as she does with all her creations to covers.

Hi HCR. I think Courtney needs to copyright the following sentence: 'NEVER WANT TO HEAR THE ORIGINAL AGAIN'. It gets said over and over by so many people on virtually every cover Courtney sings. Once she takes any song, no matter how popular, and 'Courterizes it, you can generally bury the original forever, because they just can't compete with what Courtney does to it. You are so right. They just don't make voices like this any more, nor styles. Courtney's style of passion, intensity and emotion has so long been forgotten by most of music until now. Courtney will show everyone how great music was meant to be sung. Once her album of originals drops, it will be epic and Courtney will be a household name across the globe. Three more fabulous covers by Courtney for future reactions. Say goodbye to the originals: Courtney Hadwin - Sign of the Times: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmqzmZxsjteaaM0 Courtney Hadwin - Someone You Loved: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4OchquZqM-Iia8 Courtney Hadwin - What's Love Got To Do With It: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYG8lodrrdJ6mMk

Hi HCR, Thanks for your amazing reaction to Courtney’s “Old Town Road”. I agree this is Courtney’s song now, so improved from the original. I listened to the original once for comparisons sake. I wasn’t really impressed with the original, couldn’t see what all the fuss was about. Just not my vibe I guess. But Courtney’s version with her unparalleled voice and styling is quite another thing all together. I loved watching the expressions on your face as Courtney surprised you all over again. Great reaction! I’m not sure if anyone has requested this song before, so I am going to go ahead. The name of it is “Love Hurts” by Miss Li who is a Swedish singer and songwriter who Courtney was working with not long after she was on AGT. This is NOT the Nazareth one, totally different one. Here’s the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKK9m3eIjd6rhdE Just so you know this is audio only that she recorded while in Sweden. It is shown as a clip (but full song) on an Instagram livestream. It will blow you away. While there’s no visual it will AMAZE you and the voice is undeniably Courtney.

Just for a reference point, Roy, what is your musical cup of tea? I'm always intrigued to find out about the 2% of responders who like something besides Courtney.
@roywall81693 жыл бұрын
@@rickrhoden1 I appreciate everything from Beethoven to Thrash Metal and a lot of stuff in between. My greatest passion is classic country/western music because of the storytelling aspects in it. I have recently gotten reengaged with the current music scene thanks to some of the very young rock bands starting to emerge on the scene. Courtney seems passionate with what she does, but her delivery hits me as manufactured and a bit forced, like she is trying too hard. I have not followed her career at all, but I do not wish her ill. I seem to recall her performing an original piece during her karaoke competition. Has she continued to write?
@rickrhoden13 жыл бұрын
@@roywall8169 Courtney indeed is showing a real flair for songwriting, mostly heard so far on her social media. The only fully produced original on KZbin is Pretty Little Thing she performed on AGT Champions that aired in early 2019, and it's great. She has a debut album under contract with Sony, greatly delayed by the pandemic. It should be most or all originals and should drop later this year. I was interested to hear you are liking some recent contemporary rock, because I and millions of her fans think Courtney will be in the vanguard of that musical movement. She was one of the few novices invited to Woodstock50, which unfortunately was canceled for financial insufficiency. So I guess the different take from myself and others on this thread is hearing Courtney's style as being the opposite of forced; to paraphrase her many reactors, her delivery is very original, emotional, passionate and dynamic. Perhaps her vocals are so dynamic in comparison, it seems forced to you, but to me that's the essence of rock and related genres. I will say Courtney does work and try very hard,, but that's what great performers do. She has many types of songs in her repertoire but all have her signature voicings. I hope you will listen to her some more, but, as always, to each his/her own.
@roywall81693 жыл бұрын
@@rickrhoden1 I will check it out when it drops. I haven’t heard anything from her I would call rock (I see her more as a folk/pop act), but there are so many sub genres that she could fit in with rock somewhere. I prefer driving three piece bands when it comes to rock. Budgie, Cream, Motorhead, ZZ Top etc, and a young band called The Warning is a particular obsession of mine. It will be interesting to hear what Courtney comes up with, being backed by a label.
@rickrhoden13 жыл бұрын
@@roywall8169 Cream and ZZTop are also 2 favorites. In fact, ZZ is playing in the Jackson area soon, now that the pandemic has lessened. Courtney did nothing but rock/R&B on 2018 AGT: Steppenwolf, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, James Brown, Otis Redding/Black Crowes. Her original, Pretty Little Thing was rock but a bit poppy, which is why Courtney and her label haven't promoted it--she isn't a fan of most pop. She has a great but short snippet of Sweet Child of Mine on IG (or TikTok?). Most consider her version of Old Town Road as rock (although it's definitely not grunge/trash/super heavy metal which are not my favorite types of rock).
