This is a Jonas Brothers song and if you listen to the original its not even close to Courtney's version. Courtney doesn't just sing cover songs in some cases she changes them to what she thinks they should sound like which normally ends up sounding better that the original.

2 years after your comment, I don't say anything more and I no longer count the number of people who think the same thing: all of Courtney's interpretations go far, far beyond the original. Even monuments like Nutbush, Happy XMas, Hard to handle, At last, And I'm telling you, Born to be wild etc etc....

I have to point out one more thing because they deserve it. If by now you haven't noticed yet, (how could you really with Courtney going off as she does here), check out the 2 musician interacting with each other smiling away and also how they look to Courtney herself during the song. You will see how they're enjoying playing along with her and looking up towards her as if to say "Your something special girl." They be smiling away at the half way point of the song until the end. And both these guys are excellent session musicians. They've been playing with many artists from around the world. They expressed how happy they were to be given the opportunity to make these covers with her from her "Cover Sessions" EP. Btw, these songs are available on Spotify, Amazon, I tunes and more, along with her Christmas special she just released this past holiday. When you see her on the talent shows that got her recognized (AGT and The Voice Kids UK) you will see that this stage, which is really just a studio room that hold all the amps and instruments, was way to small for her abilities to perform on stage. She needs way more room to move on a real stage. She's a beast when it come to performing. Goes right along with her vocals. She'll sell out sports arenas one day soon with the way she entertains on stage.

Courtney became well known from her appearance on America's got talent at 13. Not long after that she was signed by Arista Records and was booked to perform on day two of Woodstock 50 the following year unfortunately the concert was cancelled. She recorded this and another three tracks when she was fourteen which are available on itunes showing a wide variety of styles she can do rather than just the limited selection she was allowed on AGT. Her debut Album has been repeatedly delayed due to Covid but is expected to be released this year. Recently she has been performing covers and partly finished originals she wrote in her home studio on social media which have found their way onto youtube from listerner uploads.

@edwarddevogelear44323 жыл бұрын
Hi HCR. Welcome to the wonderful world of Courtney Hadwin. You have just come across the best thing to happen to music in decades. You're getting your introduction to Courtney on one of her more uptempo, bluesy, performances but the fact is that Courtney can sing anything and sing it better than just about anyone else. From Rock to R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads. Courtney can do it all. She can transition seamlessly between genres, sometimes within the same song, without any loss in the exquisite quality of her music. Courtney is multi-talented to the nth degree with incredible vocals, unmatched vocal versatility, stage dominating performing skills, a terrific guitarist and a powerhouse of a song writer. To many of us, Courtney is not only the vocalist of a lifetime, but the artist of a lifetime with all that she can do. Ready for another mind blower. Courtney was just 14 when she recorded this performance. Courtney first gained worldwide fame when she appeared on the 2018 season of America's Got Talent (AGT). As a soft spoken, humble, then 13 year old, she came out on stage and when she started singing she just brought the house down with a rip-roaring rock rendition of Otis Redding's classic 60's song 'Hard to Handle'. She stunned the world. Her audition went viral and now has more than 500M views. Courtney overall has over 2 Billion on-line views and a world wide following in the millions from just about every country imaginable. During her stint on AGT, Courtney sang exclusively 60's and 70's classic rock by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin, dominating the stage with every performance and amazing everyone with her raspy, growling rock voice. She was so good that Simon Cowell signed her to a record deal with Syco/Arista (Sony Music) records. Courtney got so well known as a rocker that few realized how much more range she had to offer vocally. So in 2019, she released a series of four covers of current hit songs across multiple genres with the express purpose of not only highlighting her vocal versatility but, also showing how her classic rock style of passion, intensity and emotion was fully relevant to today's music. Sucker was one of them. Her creativity is off the charts and she re-made each of those covers into her own, as she does with every cover she sings. Courtney will only do a cover if she has a vision of how a song could or should be sung that is significantly different than the original. In virtually every case, what she produces blows the original out of the water. I suggest when listening to a Courtney cover to always listen to the original first, if you haven't heard it, because it will only make what Courtney has done to it all that more amazing. For example, she took 'Old Town Road', a Country/Hip Hop mega hit and completely transformed it into something, in the best of ways, that was unrecognizable from the original. Courtney has been trying to release her debut album of original music for over a year now but, like everything else, it has been delayed multiple times by the Covid situation. It will drop sometime this year and it will be epic. Once you hear more of Courtney, you will have a better idea of what I'm talking about because, you have just barely even scratched the surface of what she is capable of.. I have put several recommendations for future reactions to Courtney below. The first is her viral AGT audition that is a must see for every Courtney fan. It went viral and now has more than 500M views (Courtney has over 2 Billion on-Line views). The second is her follow-up performance on AGT, to show how she can dominate a full stage. The next three are the remaining covers I mentioned above that span across multiple genres from Rock to Funk to Ballads: Courtney Hadwin - AGT Audition: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYGrh3-uop2IY5I Courtney Hadwin - AGT - Papa's Got a Brand New Bag: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWjXhmSZbdujjJo Courtney Hadwin - Old Town Road: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5_apZpqeJWDisU Courtney Hadwin - Sign of the Times: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmqzmZxsjteaaM0 Courtney Hadwin - Someone You Loved: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4OchquZqM-Iia8

Highly Combustible Reacts, it would be great if you could do a reaction to the link I gave below. This is by far Courtney's best performance on AGT because of her "SHOCK AND AWE" effect on the people on so many levels. In my opinion it was AGT's best first performance by a singer. Never mind Courtney was only 13 years old at that time. I'm an old rocker so when I saw this young lady perform, I was turned to a puddle of GOOOO and remained speechless for hours after her gig!!!
@rickrhoden13 жыл бұрын
You are correct that vocals like that got "broke", but you just found Courtney, who is going to mend them. You mention several of the young women with great voices but all with different styles and their own loyal fans. Courtney was only 14 there and is 16 currently. You now will be hearing from her fans, including me, believing Courtney is going to make a big splash in the music world. Already she has over 2 billion worldwide views before even releasing her debut album of originals, delayed only by the pandemic. You will get more details from other commenters, so I will only say the following. There are different opinions about singing preferences, but, IMO, Courtney has no peer in terms of crowd-rousing performance and soulful grittiness. Thanks for a great reaction; do more of Courtney!

I knew you'd like Courtney, when I was watching all your Liliac reactions this week. Thanks Jess for the request. As Shaun G said Courtney got world wide recognition and went viral on AGT in a day. And then she accumulated 30 million views in the 1st week on her AGT audition in 2018 and just went off from that point on. She was also on The Voice kids UK the year before in 2017. All her performances on both shows are crazy good. She learned about Old school artists from KZbin when she was only 11. Before that she sang mostly ballads. She said once she found James Brown, Little Richard, Rolling Stones, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin, etc, it was all over for her. She says that old school music is so much fun. And boy, does she make it even more fun. She would have been a star in any time period. She has attitude, passion, dance moves and the most unique and greatest voice to go with it all. Here's a few suggestions that I personally think people new to her should see early on so the shock value is still there. At 12 years old The Voice Kids audition kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4bKnJhjit6XjtE Tina Turner's "Nutbush City Limits" At 13 on AGT audition kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmaceWOLrc2sl7s Otis Redding's "Hard to handle" At 14 after she was signed kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5_apZpqeJWDisU Little Nas X "Old Town Road". She changed the longest #1 hit song from a country rap song with Billy Ray Cyrus here kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGjUoKmme6Z6qLM&ab_channel=LilNasXVEVO to a real rock n roll song. Similar to what she did with "Sucker" that you just reacted to. If you haven't listened to the original of Sucker by the Jonas Brothers, kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZ-knpieZZJ4Y7c you should, just to see how creative Courtney is with all her covers. She rarely does a cover the same and to me makes them much better than the originals. You're awesome at this reaction stuff.

My friend you have just found the most unique and exciting artist out there today. I'm a huge Courtney fan, just like the other millions of fans Courtney has. Now you have a new subscriber. Courtney has one of the largest fan base out there, and each and every one follows everything she does. There's a Courtney Hadwin fan club in almost every country in the world. It's unbelievable how everyone gets so excited over Courtney, especially the ones who can't speak English. But that just how amazing Courtney really is, she one of a kind, in a league of her own. You've just saw her for the first time, and there's a whole lot more out there. She was only fourteen when she recorded this one, she's now sixteen, she has videos all the way back to the age of ten. Courtney is light years ahead of her age in her vocals, control, transitions, emotions, and passion she puts into every song she sings. I'll even say she's light years ahead of any artist, past, present, and future she's that incredible with her music. She's also just as incredible at writing her songs. When this covid let's up and they unleash Courtney's original music to the world, history will be made in the music industry. Courtney's an inspiration to all young and old, she's taught the young what music is and brought the old back to music. She's brought people together from all over the world to become fans and more than anything friends. In anyone's book that's amazing for a little girl from northern England, and she did it her way, the Courtney Hadwin way. I saw that Ed and Bert left some great videos to react to next and that's a great place to start. I must say her AGT audition is a good one to do next or even her Voice Kids UK audition both are good. Those will give you a good idea about her she became so well known. As you continue to react to Courtney you'll start seeing in the comments a lot of the same name each time, that because Courtney has a lot of people that follows her and we all try to support the reactors who react to Courtney. Can't wait for your next Courtney reaction we the fans are all waiting to see your next one. By the way a totally awesome reaction

HCR! Great reaction to this superstar-in-the-making! So, she's only 16 and from the UK. Agreed that sounds like she's already been through life. That's why it's so ironic that in this song she sings about "stumbling out of bars" yet she was ONLY 14 when she recorded this song, 🎵"SUCKER". Here are my 5 "MUST-LISTEN" Courtney songs: 1.) Around the same time she sang "Sucker", at age 14, she also did 3 other covers she released on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. I feel these 4-songs are still her best work. I'd suggest you listen to the other 3 songs, 🎵 "OLD TOWN ROAD", 🎵 "SOMEONE YOU LOVED" and 🎵 "SIGN OF THE TIMES". Here is the link - kzbin.info/door/J0UIOws33p5zRE6Eul3rlw 2.) The 4th song is her audition on America's Got Talent when she was ONLY 13. AGT has ranked it their 4th most-viral performance in their 15-year history with over 300 MILLION views! Of all performances, this is the biggest MUST-WATCH of them all. She sung 🎵 "HARD TO HANDLE" written by Otis Redding in the 60's and popularized by the Black Crowes in the 90's. Here's the link - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYGrh3-uop2IY5I 3.) The 5th song is when she was 14, a British rock group, The Struts, invited her to perform 2-songs at one of their concerts, including this one, 🎵 "PIECE OF MY HEART" by one of Courtney's musical heroes from the 60's, Janis Joplin. Here is the link - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqKZiYFon7hkqac THANK YOU!!!! 🙏

Hi buddy, a future 1st lady of rock and blues. You mite know this already but here is the break down. Courtney Hadwin was born to Ann-Marie and Paul Hadwin on 6 July 2004 in Hartlepool, in County Durham, England.[3] She lives in Hesleden, with her parents, younger sister Melissa, and younger brother Paul. She attended Hesleden Primary School[4][5][6] and until autumn 2018 studied at The Academy at Shotton Hall in Peterlee.[6][7] She has also trained at Shotton Hall Theatre School, Peanuts Master Classes, Kate Sirs School of Music[8] and Julie Miles' Vocal Ovation.[9] Hadwin was a 2018 finalist on TV's America's Got Talent. She previously appeared on the first series of The Voice Kids in the UK and afterwards on America's Got Talent: The Champions. In April 2015, Hadwin auditioned for her first singing competition at TeenStar in Newcastle, England, with her version of Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love", and reached the competition's grand final.[10] She also gained notice when she was filmed performing Great Big World and Christina Aguilera's soaring duet "Say Something" in September 2015.[11] In April 2016, she won Hartlepool's Performer of the Year Award, and was a finalist in the Beyond The Lights award ceremony.[12] She was the opening act for Sister Sledge at a South Tyneside Festival concert in July 2017, where she sang for more than 18,000 people.[13] In January 2018, she sang in Southampton at an event for U-Support, raising funds for children with life-limiting illnesses and disabilities.[14] 2017: The Voice Kids UK Hadwin blind-auditioned for The Voice Kids UK, where she performed Tina Turner's "Nutbush City Limits". She was picked by Judge Danny Jones, who became her mentor on the show. During the battle round, she performed "Dancing in the Street" against Eboni Green and Hollie Firmin.[15] For her semi-final performance, she sang James Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)". For her final performance on 16 July 2017, she sang the torch song "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going", from the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, before being eliminated as a finalist 2018-present: America's Got Talent In her audition for the 13th season of America's Got Talent, Hadwin sang Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle". The performance inspired judge Howie Mandel to give her a Golden Buzzer, sending her straight to the live shows. Mandel compared Hadwin's singing to Janis Joplin.[17] The audition video received more than 50 million views on AGT's KZbin channel in its first five months.[18][19] Hadwin returned for AGT's quarter-finals on 14 August 2018, singing "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" by James Brown. For her semi-final performance on 11 September, she sang "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf, then returned for the final show on 18 September to perform Tina Turner's "River Deep - Mountain High". On the results show on 19 September, she sang "Piece of My Heart" with rock band The Struts. Although she failed to win AGT's grand prize, she went on to Las Vegas to do five live shows with winner Shin Lim at the Paris Hotel and Casino from 2-4 November 2018.[20] In December 2018, Hadwin signed a record deal with Syco Entertainment and Arista Records.[21] Her first album appeared on 25 October 2019 titled "The Cover Sessions", which include live covers of "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles, "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X, "Sucker" by the Jonas Brothers, and "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi.[22] She has been described as "an exceptional talent with a voice and spirit well beyond her years."[23] When an interviewer asked her about her artistic influences, she said, "From Little Richard, James Brown to Janis Joplin, Mick Jagger.... It's a really long list!"[24] In 2019 Hadwin appeared as a contestant on NBC's America's Got Talent: The Champions, where she performed her first original song, "Pretty Little Thing". She has been named as one of the 50 top contestants in all the AGT shows across 194 countries Courtney's cover album is available on Amazon.com Keep them vid's coming. Great channel.

Unfortunately people don’t appreciate Courtney‘s sound because it often doesn’t fit into any box they are used too. Like rock music, it is not dance music. You have to know the song because the beat is always changing. Back in the day when we danced to rock you could find yourself dancing to the beat then have to take a moment to adjust because it completely changes. It is fun to watch reactions to people new to rock when they realize the head nod, air guitar and air drums is what you express when you listen to rock. Courtney is special.

As a very young girl she ‘busked’ (sang for $) for voice lessons. I would get covers of her songs. So original. She makes them hers. Watched a movie about a cat who saved a heroin addict- only reason I knew what busking was. British term

Welcome to Courtney. She is am incredible talent from England, UK. She was on the Voice Kids in the UK and then appeared on AGT in 2018. So....you should react to this kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYGrh3-uop2IY5I This is her first audition on AGT aged 13! She will blow you away dude...seriously. Listen to Howie's comments about her. They totally back up what you say about her old soul. Enjoy.

she is a reincarnated version of Janis Joplin so they say she sings Janice Joplin songs just like Janice

You mention the likes of Grace VDW and Angelina , but until they have the vocal range that they can scream notes in tune and then drop you to low octaves without breaking a sweat and without you noticing they can’t even be held in the same regard! Angelina sticks to her comfort zone of mid to high range to sound angelic I’ve only seen one GVDW vid which was mid range so can’t judge her on one vid.

I'm back to request another side of Courtney Hadwin that you haven't yet heard. Yes she's our rock girl and boy can she perform on stage. But their is a whole other side to her that needs to be explored to appreciate what Courtney brings. As you said right here in your own words kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ7CnnSMaL2EaMk at this moment in this video. I'm giving you the softer side of Courtney's performances. She has a unique vocal tone to her timbre when she sings clean and clear, yet always comes through with her raspy, gritty growl vocals at some point in a song. Here's a cover from Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Love" by Courtney. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4OchquZqM-Iia8 Please don't wait too long on her. We miss your reactions from you on Courtney. You had us all hooked and we are hoping to watch a lot more. Here's hoping. Thanks Paul

Bunch of crude...... anyway Courtney will pack them in stadiums for 40 + yrs. She is a force of nature.
