The fact it has chain does not mean it does not have to be changed. It only says that if you keep on top of your regular oil changes and sometimes after long intervals you check if your chain is not stretched further than it suppose to (it rattles) it is ok. The only engine change for the second gen was the addition of a 3.6 vvt v6. The Chevy version was mainly sold as a fleet vehicle. Love this channel but whenever im buying a newer car i try to haggle as you do. I always say but look at the way ive maintained my car, carpet, seats etc nice and clean and all they do is look out the window and say "yeah but this car value book thingy says its only worth so much"..... my point is cleaning it up makes no difference in my experience. Spending 100 quid on a valet would be a waste of time and add sod all to the value - unless you sell it privately. Again this channel is really good, i love the before and after .... 👍 cheers Matt (edit : yes this antara is rank and i dont condone that !!!)

I own a 2012 Astra. Only spent about £500 in parts over 6 years, excellent value for money! Good fuel economy and reliability.

I had a Chevy Captiva 2.2 from the same year. IMHO the car looked much better than the Antara but parts started to become an issue. Was a great tow car but quite thirsty.

Hi Matt, great video and as I would say in French Dieu du Ciel" what kind of people does that to their car? "Tu Pleasent j'espere" I will never want to get in a car that dirty, also seemed as though they carried hay stacks inside the car rather than the boot, At least it cleaned up nice.

A mate of mine had an ancients fabia and when I put a wet vac on the back seats he was stunned to find they were green! He had that car for years and didn’t know what colour the seats were.

Well you got me there Matt. The first car that I never even heard of, or knew existed! Even the Ssanyong Tivoli I'd seen a few of knocking about. Not a bad looking motor to be fair. Cleaned up well too! I understand that in certain environments it's difficult to keep a car clean, but Jesus when you're trading it in, spend a few bob getting it clean, or a couple of hours yourself. I could never hand a car over in that state!

Great result on this one! Pretty straightforward going, I think there's soon a new owner for this, the mileage not too high and technically in pretty good shape.

I’ve seen cleaner skips than the inside of that car. Great video again Matt.
