I really enjoy this channel. I have my late father's Mercedes E280 Saloon. I'd love to take it to Mike the Magician to sort out some minor paint and a buff. Maybe an alloy refurb. I also have his old Bentley Eight. Only 37,000 miles from new (1989). My modern in a 12,500 mile 2021 V90 VOLVO. Mint.

The green Range Rover, put the key in the drivers lock. Next turn the key full left holding the lock button and count your 10 then release. From there if the battery is ok then the remote should work.

Hi Matt, I have two very helpful and one presumptuous suggestion for you. Thanks for the tour of your garage. You may want to put bumper strips on the walls of your garage ASAP to avoid any scratches. Second, we have a product here in the US which looks like a plastic grid which you put into the top of your lawn. It will allow you to drive on the lawn even when wet but still allow you to have a green space. My very presumptuous suggestion? Why not sell off both Mercs & buy a newer one with modern electronics. That way you'll have the best of both worlds and perhaps money left over. Disclaimer: I am American so cannot totally escape being presumptuous. 😂 Cheers, from New England

I would use the SORN system to cut some of the costs - even 3 months at a time on some of them. The AMG cars should be SORN over the winter to protect them from the salt. It is a great collection but a lot of money tied up - but you work hard so enjoy it.

I'm with you. I have my 2 "summer cars" SORN'd for at least 6 months. I also have a "tip trip" Corsa that is mostly SORN'd too.

Do like the double garage, ours was built early 80’s and has a post in middle which is annoying, plenty of space to walk down the middle but with the Fiesta ST’s massive doors I screwed an off cut of carpet on the wall to make getting in and out easier without scratching the edge of the door.

So you need to sell 25 cars at 1k profit per car to compensate for the 25k loss in equity in the RR Sport. By any rational business metric that was a bad decision and that's before you throw in the running costs, insurance, road tax and repairs. A flight of fancy, as you say best gloss over it !

I bought a 2014 range rover autobiography 4.4 V8 diesel in 2015 from Guy Salmon in Knutsford. I kept it until just before Xmas 2023 and it has been the most comfortable car I have ever owned. I drove it through Europe many times and it's long distance comfort is amazing. £50k depreciation in just over 8 years wasn't too bad.

Put the plastic hexagonal hard standing down in your front garden. The grass will grow through and visually look the same but will take cars if/when necessary.

I am in Canada so the product name may be different over in your part of the world…Downy fabric softener sheets, the ones that you put in the dryer when drying clothes . An added bonus if that your engine bay has that just laundered smell!!!! Seriously they work

Great looking driveway, Matt. That bit of grass alongside the garage - oooh, that looks ripe for a nice garage extension. You could turn it into a triple garage, with plenty of room for getting in & out your cars, control the humidity in there, insulate it, make it fully vermin-proof and then you'll need another car to fill the extra space! Garage space is a premium for our lifestyles and climate in the UK, so I'd see it as a worthwhile addition to your property. Pop a little home office on the first floor and you might even be able to offset some of it against your tax liability. Really cool video. Thanks Matt 👍

you can buy a bluetooth fm transmitter for about £10 which slots into the power outlet of any car, and it gives you bluetooth media functionality on pretty much any car that has an fm radio, you just set the transmitter and the fm radio to the same frequency

I’d keep the SL, choose your favourite Range Rover, paint the inside of the garage white install good lighting, then a have a carport carport built where the grass is for your “frequently” used cars - anything that won’t fit, sadly I’d let it go.

Nice to see another RR fan! My L405 2018 was lovely (4.4SDV8) but the values dropped about £3k a month so I got rid of it. I've gone back to a dependable and much more cost effective Discovery 4- it was either that or a very late L322 but their in-car tech was even older. I've had the 4.2 and 5.0 supercharged and agree, they are very addictive in such a large car, glad to h ear you don't get decent MPG too!

Totally agree with you about people who don’t own Range Rovers or never driven one and there negativity, personally I wouldn’t drive anything else but Range Rover , I’ve got a standard 2006 Focus ST which I just use to travel work and back but our velar is hands down pure luxury , comfortable , and it will go anywhere , on any terrain in any weather .

Happens with absolutely everything. I own a few high-value Bremont & Omega gold watches...whenever I leave comments reflecting this, guaranteed someone wants me to slag them off in an attempt to ruin my day. Or even one of my daily watches, Tudor BB GMT S&G....people are forever telling me how it's a "poor man's Rolex GMT-Master II rootbeer." Regarding the XKR hand brake - my previous car also had an issue, it is possible to replace just the switch - I took mine out sprayed a load of contact cleaner in it & the connectors & cleaned with cotton buds & whey-hey - it worked again! I personally prefer the pre-facelift models. Don't like the extra vents, on the vents they are a quick easy replacement - the chrome does look naff!

Got to appreciate Mark Knopflers genious😅 I listened the whole dire straits production probably ten times before I soldered a aux port and added bluetooth to my 2012 Focus. Stupid that it had only a ancient radio even though its a titanium. The little 1.0 ecoboom has currently done 170 000 miles so sooner or later i'll have to look into getting a new ride.

I am a big admirer and I also love cars, but I honestly couldn't have more than 2. I'd forget which has a valid inspection, good tires, battery etc. My ideal 2 car garage would be something like a BMW X5/Mercedes GLE/VW Touareg/Audi Q7 3.0 diesel for vacations and maybe a Toyota C-HR for around town.

Hello Matt..I find myself tuning in to your channel most night as TV in New Zealand is a bit bland. I find the variety of cars you review provides great info also love your Road Trip vids, Panda to Spain and the Scotland trip at xmas to drop off merch..great drone footage Tip for creating a bit more garage space .. drive one car in as per norm, then reverse the second car in..then you only need one open door space which is the centre of the garage .. Like this vid although I've weaned myself off cars last few years and swapped to vans..my crisis car was a new 2007 BMW 335d coupe in montego blue I specd with every extra, no regrets, put 250k on it in 7 years Highlands and Europe, then loaned it to my son and it got nicked and written off, sad but a handy reminder of impermanence 😁

You’ve triggered my PTSD with the alarm sound on the L322. My E39 has the same problem, intermittently. Going to try my spare key tomorrow as if I only lock and unlock in the barrel, the alarm doesn’t sound. The second I press a button though…
