Your channel is outstanding. Consistently delivering high quality, inspiring videos is not an easy task, especially for a demanding job like a pilot. My dream is to be a pilot, and I will never give up to achieve that, with this video serving as an inspiration (I love Japanese airports and Boeing! 💙🇯🇵). Thank you so much, please keep posting Japan takeoff/landing videos when you can! 🙌

@@fomec7767 hey!! so i decided to go with a bachelors in computer science for the time being because it kind of interested me, but I still have the aspiration to be a pilot. Hope to start training sometime in the next 5-10 years!
The scene of the approach looks so cinematic! This video is a breath of fresh air from the usual night landing videos. Also those waypoints for ILS Z 23 have very interesting names. Looking forward to tropical Hong Kong! Thank you again for gifting us with your awesome videos!

That taxi time though. I think it was as long as my commute/drive to school hahaha Reminds me of the taxi from 36L/18R to terminal at EHAM.
Some airline companies pay your entire pilot education if you sign up to work for them for a certain period of time. But if you flunk your exam or quit the job before what the deal specifies, you will need to pay for all of it. This could be an idea for you, check which airlines do this. First you will have to take the A certificate, which is "easy" enough, takes roughly one year, this includes your 20 sessions with a teacher/co-pilot and another 20 solo flights, this is the minimum, if you pass these, and the exam, you can then fly a single engine plane. Then you start to study for you B License, which is mostly twin engine planes. While you study for your B license you need make sure to get a couple of hundred flight hours in your single engine plane, you need those to qualify for the exam for the B license. Finally you can go for your D license, which is Passenger jets. The entire education from A-D can take as little as 3 years, but realistically 4 years. Then you should have obtained the 1500+ flight hours required to receive the commercial pilot license (D license). And of course you need to pass the exam. After this comes specific education on the type of plane you want to fly. When you think of it, 3-4 years from start to finish isn't that bad for a job like this. It pays well, and you get to see the world. And being a pilot is still been seen as a high status job, something exiting that people admire. So if you want to become a pilot, i say, do it, go for it. Try and get a deal where a company pays the entire ordeal.

2:58 What is the reason for turning off Flight Director?
@gasaholic475 жыл бұрын
Curious as to why the approach and runway axis differ? Any good explanation appreciated.
@smallduties88975 жыл бұрын
As the chart says there is an offset of around 2 degrees. The reason for this is most often inconvienient localiser placement. As you can see, runway lays on unnatural island and possibly they were unable to align loc with centreline

Very good video, Haneda is a scary airport to approach (at least in P3D :D). I have one question: why do you switch the Flight Directors to off prior to touchdown?
@HighPressureAviationFilms6 жыл бұрын
When we align on the runway axis, we are not following the localizer anymore, so we must turn off the Flight Directors.
@traineepilot576 жыл бұрын
Flight directors when turned off would no longer provide guidance for the approach but would provide guidance for a missed approach once a go around is initiated.
@pgroell6 жыл бұрын
Once you push the TOGA buttons, the flight directors will be visible again and are then used for the go-around.

ILS can be correct or not? Due to the wind aircraft might be slightly to the left or right force the captain to turn the AP off. Pilot's skill always unbeatable
@HighPressureAviationFilms5 жыл бұрын
Yes, ILS is correct on runway 23 at Haneda. Anyway, we are supposed to disconnect and fly manually for landing. It's at the appreciation of the pilot to decide when, taking into consideration the flying elements such as crosswind.
