As someone who plays barbarian and always attacks reckless, i understand why Katie NEVER wants to use it - having two or more enemies on you ALL with advantage can result in multiple crits against you. Honestly, it's the smart play to be selective with reckless; I just like to hit things. Kudos to Katie!

​@@lucasbarron1345 Are you joking? Useless? In both campaigns? Excuse me, have you and I been watching the same campaigns? You might have commented on the wrong video or something. She friggin' carried the last campaign and she has been an excellent tank AND damage dealer throughout this one. It was a running joke for an extended length of time during the first campaign that mark could not kill Elora no matter how much he threw at her (mainly due to OP beast shapes). During the current campaign, there have been very few times when she was not tanking at least one creature, at which point it is literally a wash to rage. You do realize it's a symmetrical effect, right? And you also realize Mark is going to target Katie with EVERYONE the moment she rages, right? So why in the world would she rage to not only focus all the enemies on to one target (it is very good to do this strategically, and Mark normally does not do this for RP purposes) but also give them ALL advantage against her? hmm? Just for her single turn worth of attacks to have advantage, you give multiple enemies a turn of reckless attacks against her. That's just plain stupid to do, most of the time. Sure you might be able to get away with doing that when the enemies are level 3 goblins, but not when the enemies attack 2+ times often with unique abilities. It would only make sense to do that if you wanted to pull aggro, or finish off a small number of enemies, the second of which is what she has been using it for. I certainly wouldn't her to expect to think that far enough ahead to pull aggro when people are low and especially when the enemies have physical damage which would be my only critique, but other than that she has been playing rather well. In fact, of all the people, she is one of the people who makes the LEAST number of bad decisions during the combat situations in my opinion (admittedly, this may be partially due to the relative simplicity of playing with not as many options). Also, from a less theoretical standpoint, in almost every combat the group leave her to solo 2+ enemies and she does it just fine. Think about it this way, would you rather have a 5v6 (outnumbereed) or a 4v4 (even fight) in combat? Of course you want the 4v4! That is what a tank does for a fight. I also haven't added it up, but I would hazard to guess she has done far more damage than nova on average throughout this campaign.

@@kmh0237 I'm sorry... she carried the last campaign? I just finished watching it and that's hilarious. She spent virtually the entire time hiding in the back while wildshaped so she couldn't even cast spells. I'm not criticising her character choices, everyone should play how they want, but saying she carried the campaign is total bollocks. Mark couldn't kill her in the last campaign because she never did anything that would put her in even the slightest bit of danger. Katie is far too cautious in my opinion, she has a tendency to give up at the first sign of damage, but hey that's how she wants to play so she can do that. Just don't come out with utter rubbish like saying she carried the campaign when she absolutely did not. She is the least effective player at the table by a million miles.

Me (DM)and my brother (player) were in a haunted house with ghosts and stuff then he met a large man in black metal armour with an ac of 18. I thought with my small brain this would be a small encounter but it lasted 40 minutes! You could with some rule fuckery, but you'd have to run it by your DM first. Essentially tho, you'd just have to make it magical, give it the effect of being a spell focus, and maybe some other minor buffs/debuffs. Also, it almost definitely wouldnt require attunement.

By the looks of it, he's got magic resistance as opposed to immunity, and then, I think similarly to the tarrasque, he also reflects single target effects he saves against, possibly line spells too, but AoE stuff isn't stopped by those

I think it is because Mark is so much harsher on Trott and Tom than anyone else, I can guarantee you if Rhiannon wasn't listening, which she has done alot in the past and side series, Mark would just repeat it for her, same with combat when he said he could just extend bless for her. Tom made a good point, he isn't the problem as he plays the game the best. Mark himself in the past has said they need to do combat better, but out of all 5 of them Tom is the best at combat.

It might just be me but i feel like the combats are kind of cumbersome and long. When a fight starts i don't find myself getting excited like before but irritated because it will most likely take a whole session if not 2 to get through a battle, I find myself skipping through the majority of fights now. I LOVE the story Mark is developing and how the characters are playing it, it's just that to me it is feeling like a more combat heavy game, and just about every fight is a make it by the skin of your teeth type of fight. I think that is great for big boss battles but it seems that insignificant enemies and blockades can turn extremely deadly with a few bad/good rolls from the players/dm.That is fine if that is how they want to play, it's just not my cup of tea, I just feel like story and RP are kind of taking a backseat in this campaign compared to lightfall. Might just be me or the online setup they are having to use (not mad about it, great they are being responsible during the pandemic) maybe a combo of both but I'm finding combats irritating instead of exciting.

For example, he says as he explains before they left on the ship, yeah we rarely run into these things... one day in here’s a ridiculously hard encounter that will ruin anything you’re trying to do... it’s more annoying than anything... find other ways to show off your world building...
