I wish they’d thought to bring the big ice monster that Siaska set to defend Aerois inside the big ice field. It’d have been a cool ally. Have Siaska heal him and let him exact vengeance upon the hungering star for tainting if for so long. Not to mention Rana’iel, the celestial they saved from Xarkira. She pretty much joined the crew of the Stormchaser.

Eh, it makes sense that a tenth level spell and the help of a incredibly powerful god can destroy 1 artefact with preparation. Also Mark probably didn't want Quill to be able to use portent. And regardless he wouldn't have been able to use it again before the finale anyway.

@@Jthomas-gg9pi just seems pointless to take Agency away from the players when Mark is also very keen on saving throws for anything the party does to his NPCs. But to take away such an important item to a player without a roll just isn’t fun. And for high lvl spells that don’t have saves the target needs to be in a weakened state for it to work. Quill was at full power and he didn’t get a chance to react. And it’s not like Quill is a some pushover, he’s 20th lvl also with the side of godlike beings. If mark didn’t want Quill to have the eye he should’ve just nerfed it or give a vague answer.

Saving throws are automatically applied. Meaning regardless there would be no agency. They had the opportunity to Do something, and they did. They prevented the worst possible outcome. He might have gotten a save if he asked why he didn’t. (Or at least an answer as to why.) in all honesty it is smart of her to Do everything in both her and hadars power to Create a reaction spell that can do exactly this no save. Like power word kill. It either works or it doesn’t all depends on your hp. You either have more than a 100 ho or you die. No save. No agency. Just 🗣️🪦.

I don't understand how they're in the infinite staircase in a ship. From most of what I read, flying only works within like 25 ft of a staircase, and I don't see how a ship would even be able to maneuver considering the space and magic concerns.
