Yeah... It's because people are all too aware of how easily they can be misled and how easy it is to fall for a person only to find yourself eyeballs deep in THEIR traumas and failing to cope. It's not about getting to know someone, its about shortening the wasted time... If you hear right out of the gate that they have some deep trauma around x, y, z and that those things are things you require in your life, you'll know immediately that this person doesn't fit your life and that you are incompatible. Sadly, it's literally about not wasting time on people you won't get on with. If your traumas are not compatible, then nothing else will be either... That, and there are people who just don't want to deal with other people's traumas and want to know RIGHT away if you're worth their time - if you say a trauma that they don't want ot deal with, they can just walk away immediately, no more wasted time. This is EXACTLY why I would just die alone if I hadn't found someone over 15 years ago. :|

As a 34 y/o f, dating as a teen was easier than trying to date in my 20s. You had school and college to force you with a bunch of other people so you're more likely to find someone you share interests with. In my 20s I just had my job to meet people because there was no way in hell I was going out. I tried apps, no dice. In 2022 I met my husband in a MENTAL HOSPITAL because we just so happened to have a mental breakdown at the same time. We lived in different areas of the state so we would never have met any other way. There's something to be said about groups of people forced together for higher purpose to find someone. I think the biggest issue with dating today is how many people talk about having and wanting someone with emotional intelligence and being emotionally healed when entering a new relationship but not actually understanding what that entails. Before meeting my current boyfriend, I dated a few problematic men who would preach these things and yet were a massive mess of dysfunction. And if you called this to their attention they would just flip it and act like I was the problem. No sense of accountability or self awareness. Considering I've been in a healthy and happy relationship for a while now and seeing the difference between how I was once treated to how I am treated by my current partner its safe to say the problem wasnt me. I feel sorry for anyone who has done the work and is ready for a healthy relationship..because seeing how many people truly arent capable is just sad. Seek therapy for your traumas. I agree with you 100% on dating in this day and age… I started dating my husband in high school and I can say he was the only good egg in the egg carton. I married him at 19, I know some people think that’s dumb or crazy but I had to secure him cause wherever I look I just feel grateful for him. I am shocked every day at the stuff people my age do still.. thank god I found him cause I’d rather stay single with 20 dogs than have another man that’s in the dating market today! Also you’re amazing Ken! Thank you for the amazing content I’m always excited to see you upload!

Regarding men not taking care of themselves, men should start encouraging each other to groom themselves because this shit isn't flying anymore for women. Doing nothing and expecting women to come your way isn't happening. Just take a hint from Aisan men, they know that basic hygiene and some grooming+ styling yourself goes a long way.
