I like that Felix mentions it's ok to spoil your kid as long as they're thankful. That's a great perspective to have too many times children are blamed for being spoiled when really it's the parents teaching them not to be thankful for what they get.

Being spoiled means that a persons character/personality is damaged, or changed due to the fact that they are given everything they’ve ever wanted. The Toy Catalog thing made me so nostalgic, I had a lego toy catalog that I would always read before bed, it was probably 3 years outdates but I just loved looking through it and seeing all the cool mini figures.

Growing up we didn’t have much money. Dad worked 2 jobs and my mom worked one as well. Anyway, growing up, my parents always told us that home was “not a restaurant” so if we didn’t like what was made for dinner, then we would go to bed hungry. Some may say it was harsh, but I am grateful for my parents, and teaching us not to take things for granted.
