I rode the Pacific Surfliner yesterday, it was pretty cool, although when the train arrived next to Interstate 5 after San Onofre, the cars on the Interstate were blowing past us, it definitely needs weight reduction, an extra power car, and/or electrification.

@@Surfliner6905 Superliners are only rated for 100. So to go any faster would mean buying all new coaches. Wouldn't make much financial sense to get an extra 10MPH.
