On the subject of motorcycle names, mine was given a human name by the prior owner, but that name turned out to be PERFECT. When I lived in NC, this super sweet dog used to visit us since her people let her roam free in the rural area. Since she didn't have tags, and I'd already seen too many stray dogs get run over, my wife and I kept her overnight once night and took her to a shelter to check for a chip the next day. I adored this animal, and told the shelter that if no one claimed her within a few days, I would adopt her. Sadly for me, her people came by looking for her, my wife told her where the dog was, and they told us her name was Maggie. I didn't see her again until a month later, on my birthday, as I was leaving for work. I spotted her off to the side of the road looking at my car. I got out, and her tail started wagging tentatively. I called out "Maggie?", and she ran over super excited wagging her tail so hard her whole body moved. I absolutely adored that dog. We saw her a couple more times before both we and her family moved out of the area. Fast forward to a few years ago, and I was learning how to ride. We started saving money for a cheap-ass Honda, but then other expenses ate that savings, so I signed up for some bike raffles. The one I wanted the most was a used bike, being raffled off by a dog shelter in NC, about 30 minutes from where my parents still live. The raffle day came and went, and I was sad not to get a call. I woke up the next morning to an email saying that I had won the bike. The pictures for the raffle promo showed the OEM 2003 Sportster tank, but the shelter owner sent me a photo of the 4 gallon aftermarket tank that was also included, which had the name painted on it that the former owner had given the bike: Maggie. The kicker? I signed the papers to claim the bike exactly 11 years TO THE DAY that the dog Maggie had stayed with us. So I may not have gotten to adopt that endlessly sweet dog, but she came back to me anyway, in the form of an aging Harley. She is my first and thus far only motorcycle, which I ride as often as possible, and maintain myself as much as possible. So yeah, people names for bikes aren't always a bad thing. Sometimes that's the thing that makes them truly special in a way that no other bike can match.

It's amazing all the people from out of state that come to Bert's to buy a bike thanks to all of your content there. Shadetree, from being a Shadetree Army / Brapstar member follower Bert help me with a problem I had a couple years ago buying a Road Glide from a sleezy dealership here in Sacramento, CA area. Well now Bert has done it again and I reached out to Bert and bought a 2023 Fatboy that I will be coming soon to Florida to receive the bike and ride it with all the Florida peeps. Zack and the guys at the Blackwidow are doing all of my motor work and customization of the bike. They are starting the motor build this week, Gunner is gunna help me capture all of the build footage, and when it's done I'm off to the great swamps of Florida. i take my stock ass roadking off road all the time, but also ive been stuck in mud, dropped it a hundred times and had to sleep next to it till i could get my dog to dig us out the next day. I've learned not to go on a trip without a block and tackle. sometimes a foot is all you need. haha.

1) My little sister owned *three* of those Avalons. She originally went to the dealer to buy a small Lexus. He didn't have the model she wanted, and suggested the Avalon instead. She loved them. Me too! Great engines, and like you say, a sleeper hotrod. Not great gas mileage though. 2) Sportster C meant "Custom." Usually had 21" front wheel (depending on year), and a little more bling...later models had a bigger 4.5 gallon "turtle" tank. Harley has two different jiffy stands - a short and a long one. A lot of Sportster owners mix and match, and many put the shorter one. Makes it lean over too far for me.

Solution to the plates with as many bikes as you go through in a year get dealer plates then you can put them on anything you ride, and you get multiple plates. Brap star should qualify!!
