Brings back the memories. I grew up in the 70's, early 80's when trucks such as these travelled the roads daily. The new trucks are ok but I really do miss some of the older ones; I especially liked the ones with 2 stroke Detroits. Thanks for posting this.

Brockways was tough old trucks. I got old one running back in early 80's they hauled in from somewhere broke down to work on in my slow days on job just to keep looking busy.. I talked guy about 6 months ago they still using it 35+ years later on road Maintance. filters& grease oil changes few normal wear parts all they ever done after my engine/trans rebuild.

Saludos y gracias!

0.27 Subler, they had an account at the truckstop I worked at. Whether they needed fuel or not they all would stop to get their tanks topped off. Good chance I fueled and cleaned the windshield of that truck a few times.

The new trucks are more comfortable and more powerful than those '70s and '80s models but they seem so bland nowadays! And the new engines sound like sewing machines! I like a truck that looks like a truck and sounds like a truck!

gm16v149, actually the new engines sound like a house fan.

gm16v149 yeah in an old truck you'd put your foot down and the engine would get louder. Wouldn't go any faster

I'll take an 80s 3406 Cat engine or a Cummins 400 Big cam 3 any day for real power over the pollution control crap engines of today

No wonder the general motoring public views us drivers as illiterate dummies. Can't even spell MEMORIES correctly.
