This song touches me every time I hear it! As I drive the 401 from Trenton I will always play this song! I’m always impressed by the level of respect Colin, John Angus, and Jack have! The Trews will always have my heart!

I hated hearing this song. The radio station would play each time a soldier was killed Afghanistan. My heart would always sink. Then to watch them come home down the 401. Their families. The heart break. Lest We Forget.

From the UK, wonderful song in the context of the day. Huge respect to the great Canadians . I foresee a day is beckoning when similar sacrifices will be required.

Thank you from all Canadians! It is such a heartfelt song and my very favourite. My family, too, lost family in WW1 and WW2. I cry every time I hear it, remembering all the soldiers that fought for good over evil in this world. Bless you for the remembrance of all the heroes.

My grandfather was a WWI aviator at a really young age; at 102 years old, he (for the first time) talked about the war as a trench soldier, getting shot by the soldiers behind him, leading a charge, and getting shot again. While in hospital, they learned he'd excelled and math and science in school, so they put him into a pilot program and he flew until the end of that war. He just said "I was good at - I wished I died saving my friends". Imagine what absolute steel ran through his veins at 18-22 years old.

I’ve watched as many soldiers are repatriated to/from Trenton, down the Highway of Heroes. I cry for the families, but especially for the parents who have to bury their children. I can imagine no greater pain. My great grandfather was 27 when he died in 1917, in France. My great grandmother had 2 boys under 5 to raise on her own. He didn’t have to go. He could have stayed in Toronto and worked. But he did go, and it cost not only him, but his family. Every soldier has a family. War needs to end. Thank you for this song. You have shone a bright light onto our fierce pride in those who sacrifice.

Proud to be from the same hometown of most of the band members. If I'm not mistaken the inspiration for this song was when Capt. Nicola Goddard passed away serving a tour in Afghanistan, our first female casualty of that conflict
