India should promote its Expressway network, and the construction of the same should not be limited to only one party or regime. it is the govts responsibility to make an Interstate-like network. And governments should not be satisfied with the construction of one off projects... they need to proliferate and catalyze more such projects. One day GPS should be able to say " Move onto exit 330 B and merge into NE 678D from NE 44 and continue to Bhawanipatna"

India do have and are planning 4 laned expressways like bundelkhand expressway, ahmedabad vadodra expressway. Also many of the expressways allow 2 wheelers imo. for eg. Yamuna expressway, delhi meerut expressway, Lucknow-Agra Expressway do. KMP and KGP expressway, mumbai pune eway does not allow the bikes. So its not a hard rule in India I guess.
