The chikiri isn't the rivet mate. The chikiri is the lethal L shaped bar that sticks out that you use to open the knife and to keep it shut with the pressure of your thumb

The history of these knives is fascinating I have a set of these in my collection and they are amongst the sharpest knives I own they retain their edge really well but I find the handle uncomfortable but if you know how you can configure these knives to your own personal preference which I have and it vastly improves the performance of the knife.May I make a suggestion on sharpening if you haven’t got the hang of free hand sharpening yet to get yourself either a Lansky sharpening box or a Spyderco sharp maker you honestly can’t go wrong and you will get a wicked edge on your knives.

Indeed I think the history behind these knives really bring them to life ! I fatally agree with the sharpness and edge retention on these, never found another steel quite like it. Yes the handle does get a little uncomfortable, I too have seen some different configurations and I’m glad yours works well by the sounds of it ! Literally when you posted I ordered a lanksy of which like you said you can’t go wrong so I’m hoping to revive a few edges 👌🏼. Thank you so much for the tips and your comment 🙏🏼

Couldn’t agree more 👍🏼👌🏼! Like you said they are not the most practical that’s a given 😂 but I can’t get over how the steel is performing and holding up 🙏🏼. I do run this as a backup most of the time now and it fits right in there 👌🏼

These knives are suprisingly good - I love the rough and readies ... Higonakami, Douk Douk, Svord Peasant are the Unholy Holy Three.

I think they are fantastic for the price, mine has a lovely patina going on now. The steel is just amazing after all this time as well 👌🏼. Haha I like that, the Unholy Holy Three or Trinity ? The Unholy Holy Trinity 😎. I still need to up my Douk Douk game 🤦🏼‍♂️.

Peasant knives !! but i paid $aud400 for hand hammered damascus paper steel one...the guy that made mine, guy before current (motosuke nagao) used to sign samurai swords lol the emperor liked them, so many stories...

A very nice knife! I own the cheaper versions I am guessing are not hand made! This one looks far superior to both of the ones I own, I may look into getting one eventually!

Usually from what I have read and researched all Higonokami are hand made no matter the style, so would be interesting to see yours 👍🏼. This one was the cheapest “super steel” of the versions I have looked at.

Is this one not a bit small? I meen the knief is cause of the push thoumb system to small that your whole hand can holt this knief. Think this is the model L. There is also a XL model. There you can hold the knief with the whole hand.

I have looked at these a few times still really unsure on it tbh what do you think of the quality of the d2 used on the Luna have you carried it much?

It depends what you are unsure about ? Maybe I can give some insight ? Hands down the quality of the d2 steel on the Luna is fantastic, I carry it every day (not at work) weekends evenings ect and has really stood up to anything I have thrown at it! Shaving sharp out of the box and still as sharp as when I got it about a day or two before the video I dropped on it. No chipping, not needed to sharpen. To be honest it’s my favourite steel at this minute in time (on the Luna) hope that helps if you have any more questions let me know 👍🏼

Oh ok sure, well it’s honestly 1 of my top 3 knives and it gets a lot of carry time and I have not met another person who doesn’t like it yet 🤷🏼‍♂️. I think it’s a decent shout to get one when they come back in stock 👍🏼 and do like the manly wasp, I mean d2 is never going to be as great as s90v however it’s well worth the money in my opinion. Also I am ever so sorry for the late reply as well ! 🙏🏼

Hello, I couldn’t tell you I’m afraid is the honest answer, as the only reputable re seller of these I personally know of is knives and tools. Which is where I got mine from. Also I would imagine Heinnie Haynes ones are legit as well, I can’t imagine them stocking clones. It is a possibility that they are on Amazon but unless you need it in a super duper rush I’d have a look at those sites mentioned above.
