Remember how in the next chapter, it mentions the parasites and homing instinct? Adds a whole new layer of context to Shion's desperate escape to back home...

Bro that parasite theory was indeed very intersting imo
@alex_zetsu2 жыл бұрын
@@Vexxie17 The parasite theory was half right. For one thing, the parasite was a lot weaker than Takno's note's indicate and fading with each generation, so while it might have encouraged Shion to go back home if she had another reason (which she did), it wasn't an irresistible compulsion. And Rika being absolutely necessary to keep the parasite at bay was made up.

@@alex_zetsu yep, it was indeed.

this theme is super dramatic in contrast to how little is actually going on during the escape scene, Shion doesn't even get caught or have to outrun/sneak past anyone she just walks out.

It's funny though. For Shion, it's dramatic. She sees the world as black and white only, and many things are new for her. For her, this is completely outrageous. It's groundbreaking. Even if it was a simple walk. The fact she was breaking a rule - devastating. Exciting.

@@summerrunner1755 I'm currently playing through all of higurashi right now! I've been a fan of When They Cry for about 10 years now but I've never actually PLAYED higurashi, only watched it (about a thousand times). But now I'm going through everything WTC related that I can get my hands on! And so far it's absolutely worth it!
@summerrunner17555 жыл бұрын
@@HamazuraGOD That's great to hear! I actually envy you cause it is indeed a wild adventure reading through them all (especially if it's your first time, nothing beats it like the first one!). So 10 years of When They cry huh? Does that mean you watched and or played Umineko yet? If so I highly recommend it! In fact, the creators of the WTC vn's are releasing another whole chapter for Umineko this summer. As well as a whole new WTC series released around the same time. You couldn't have picked a better time to start playing through the vns. The rest of us are just anxiously waiting, rereading (or in this case visiting past favorite soundtracks to reminisce the good ol' times haha)

@@summerrunner1755 Umineko is my entire life, despite not having completed it all yet. When Umineko Saku and Ciconoa's openings were revealed I just about cried. I even have my eyes set on Rose Guns Days, Higanbana, and Hotarubi. I started this entire journey about a year ago (late-2017) but extreme lack of focus is the main reason I haven't gotten very far until recently. I even made a massive checklist of what WTC things to do in what order! I decided that 10 years was too long to be this much of a casual fan of something I love to death and even grew up with! So far I think the higurashi vn (just started kai) is on the same level of quality and love as the anime, except the watanagashi vn was SO much better than the anime version that it shocked me!
@summerrunner17555 жыл бұрын
@@HamazuraGOD Very true. It's quite rare to find another reader that liked the animes too. Do you feel the same with the Umineko anime as well? In a way, I find myself lucky because I happened to watched both higurashi animes as well as the Umineko one before I ever even touched or knew the vn's were a thing! It's actually what drove me to find the vns in the first place because Umineko season 2 never came out lol! I NEEDED some type of conclusion to this show! Little did I know that I would have stumbled across one of the greatest masterpieces this world has to offer. I'm almost certain though, that if I found the vns first then tried to watch either of the shows, I probably would have disliked as much as the rest of the fanbase. Well, atleast for Umineko, it takes most of the criticism but I still enjoyed watching it.

I get KZbin Kids recommendations on the right... WHY???

That always happens when the algorithm for recommendations is broken. I don't know why it defaults to KZbin Kids content.
