Honestly I almost had the same experience with Higurashi, a few years ago I was looking for the original anime on Crunchyroll and I couldn’t find it so I just held off on it. Recently I finished the VN and watched the anime afterwards and I was so glad I read the VN first because I knew those shock/gore moments wouldn’t have hit nearly as hard if I knew what was going to happen or if I expected it to be shown like in the anime. Higurashi doesn’t really show its violence in CGs like other visual novels, but I did like imagining the scene in my own mind from the text we were given and just how different each character’s thoughts are and the contrast between them when those scenes are happening but that’s probably just me I dunno. oh and great cover btw

I like this version better than the other synthesia You composition. Good stuff. I watched the first season of the Higurashi anime first (AKA the first four episodes of the VN equivalent), but dropped it after that because I felt the anime kind of lacking I just got bored. But I had forgotten about it until midway through my playthrough of the VN. I think I realized sometime in the middle of the third chapter that I was reading the same story I had watched six months before. Maybe that happened because I had a LOT of free time so I had watched a LOT of anime in the inbetween.

Thx for the keyboard visual! Appreciate it! Side Note: I read the description. I usually avoid or set aside anime based on an interesting visual novel until after I’ve read it so the VN experience isn’t spoiled. Maybe, you would like House of Fata Morgana if you haven’t heard of it yet. I heard that it’s disturbing and has horror so you might like it. I’m about to read it soon for the first time myself. Anyways, sorry for the word vomit and thx for the upload. 👍
