I love how they say “your favorite foods” and then say healthy complex carbs. Ummm... my favorite foods are ice cream and cake not beans and fruit 😂

What is the carb cycling schedule? I thought I heard you say it once and it seemed simple, but now I can't find it? How many days high, how many low in what sequence? Thanks.

What about if I workout while fasted? Would it be pointless to add carbs afterwards since they won’t really assist with my workout?

It's not pointless. Carbs helps you to recover. I usually go to the gym in morning with empty stomach

Why not do Intermittent Carb fasting based on Hours? For instance, no Carbs for 18 hours. I am starting test on my own with allowing Carbs with Breakfast until Lunch(6am till Noon). Any snacks or meals beyond noon till 6:00 am can only be proteins and fats. I am starting this method as I have significant issues with tolerating other forms of carb reduction/elimination and typical fasting. Might be a bridge diet for people like me.

I’m a little confused. Veggies =carbs. Right? But 4:25 she says “The key is to focus on eating more veggies on low carb days.” 4:50 “more veggies rest days and more carbs on workout days”

Nine times out of ten the reason people like me gain the weight because of trying a restrictive diet whilst trying to exercise more, this may give results at first but it does lasting damage because this tells your body there's an emergency and slows down your metabolism. There's no point in going on any of these diets and exercise regimes until you have dealt with the underlying cause of your weight gain. The underlying cause of most people's weight gain could be a traumatic event in there lives, prolonged stress or fear, financial problems or bullying can cause this. Your body picks up on your stress and it doesn't know the details of the emergency so it assumes from your uncertainty and your fluctuating food intake that there may not be a meal tomorrow, so it slows down your metabolism. Just eat a balanced diet take exercise you can handle, but more importantly deal with your psychological problem. Chill out and your body won't stay in emergency mode. Actually if you think of ways to build your confidence and self esteem before you lose weight this would help you lose weight quicker than constantly beating yourselves up with impossible standards that you may put on yourselves. Out of shape bodies and weight gain are psychological problems. You have to convince your body there is no emergency. It's no different to training your bladder. Get up an hour early and eat porridge or egg and and toast, because carbs are your first fuel of the day. After an hour start your day exercise If you want, or just go for a walk if you don't. If your in work good! most kinds of jobs will burn up enough calories so in that case exercise for fun or to release endorphins. And in the evening eat more protein and low carbs because your going to sleep soon and you don't need the energy, but your body needs the proteins to repair your muscles while you sleep. Carbs in the morning, protein in the evening .

Most Vegetables can be put into two groups. Fibrous carbs and starchy carbs.

If you workout first thing in the morning, should you have a high carb day the day before? So reverse of what you mention here.. high carb on rest day/non-HIIT day, then low carb the day I do HIIT to make sure I have glycogen for my HIIT days?

That is correct. If you work out in the morning-Do your high carb day then do legs the next morning. This will use the stored energy. However, to be more efficient, wake up early to eat some carbs the morning of your high carb day. That way you maximize your strength. Also, limit cardio on your high carb day. Save that for your moderate to low days. This will also maximize the fat burn.

Basically, you want to make a schedule where you eat high complex carbs and when you eat low complex carbs. You want to focus on eating healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, or yogurt. That’s why it’s called carb cycling. You cycle through high carb days and low carb days. Note: don’t eat yogurt that had so much sugar it just boost your glycogen which gets in the way of burning fat

I've tried every IF method.. and I do prolonged fast 48+ hrs.. I've got a plateau and I NEED to lose at least 30lbs to avoid health concerns. I can't get over this rut though... So I'm thinking of combining ADF with carb cycling AND calorie cycling. ..... What are your thoughts ? (Obviously maintaining a plant based diet and working out daily)

You guys are maintaining your weight so with the fact you are highly active u can see eating that much but I have a desk job and have a lot of weight to lose. Which video should I watch for that? I already do intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting and I've cut most added sugar foods but in my second month now my weight loss has slowed way down. So what do I do? Am I not eating enough? I know I need more exercise.

Is there a number for what is a high carbs versus a low carbs day? I saw one of your videos that didn't give much variety...yuck. Lots of eggs, avocado, broccoli. I'm allergic to eggs and avocado. Substitutes?

One thing want to know ... If I turn my self as a fat adapter,then then ever I take carbs it will stop fat adoption,then how you can suggest take carbs while I m in a fat adoption mode.. or tell how much carbs can stop my fat adoption and change in to a suger adoption??? Please help?

This was great, thanks, been searching for "best carb cycling diet for fat loss" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Nantray Carb Caboodle - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my partner got cool results with it.

What if you do intermittent fasting and your eating window is after your workout? I always workout fasted. So how does eating a high carb meal help after your workout help your workout? Is there any other benefit?

Ya I'm not an expert, but from what I know your strategy is very strong as the body is forced to burn fat to recover. I think that if you do HIIT or other intense workouts, carbs help. I know for my 60 km bike ride we did carbs the night before to build up energy for the race.

Hello when you say HIGH carb days when you workout. I workout (cardio) every day so I took the 3-1 carb cycling. So should I just follow the 3-1 cycle? And I watched the video I don't eat red meat so for my protein can I eat fish, chicken, Turkey? Thank you ☺

Earlisha Willis You can eat any of those meats :) And what they mean is do your higher cardio on your higher carb days, and on your lower impact workout days, do low carb cycles.

If I workout one hour 6:30-7:30pm and my bedtime is 9pm what do you suggest I eat for supper? Or if I'm doing intermittent fasting how will that work?

Glenda Strickland Eat dinner around 5:30 to 6 pm (what you eat will depend on whether you’re doing low carb or a high carb day), have a snack no later than 8 pm if you’re hungry after working out, then fast until about 10 am the next day (that’s 14 hours fasted).
