Yes we wear hijab as a sign of modesty. In Islam both men and women should be modest in what they wear though men don't need to cover their hair. Different Muslims wear tje hijab differently. Some are a little lenient while some like to ensure that their clothing is also loose and all their hair is properly covered. I hope this helped. :)
