BEAGLE Tapes: Episode 34 - Andrew Reynolds and Jeff Lenoce

Starting this tape off in his hometown, Beagle attempts a fakie kickflip to switch manual at Edison Rec Center. With a Birdhouse shirt and Tom Penny Mushroom Flip board, the gear is more impressionable than the make would have been. "Can we get a fisheye?" A stones throw away, Andrew Reynolds films his classic kickflip manual at the Huntington High School 4 up 5 down. It's gotta be the shoes (Emerica Reynolds One). You might recognize the turnaround from a slow motion in the BAKER2G video. Deep in the IE (Murrieta, CA) Big Head Jeff skates a gap and and plays with firecrackers at a local highvschool. Another "As Seen" in the BAKER2G video, Andrew Reynolds films a classic line at the ARCO building in downtown Los Angeles. Crimson and Clover. Heading west to a classic Korea Town rail, Jeff Lenoce lands a frontside noseslide that you also might recognize from a VHS tape. "Hold your money when you're rolling the dice, baby!" Brian Sumner ends the tape the with a line attempt at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA. A B1 Birdhouse board encounters a technical difficulty. Circa 1999

Was that Beagle's apartment with the A-Team banner and the Blind poster in the back in that first clip? For some reason that seems kinda weird, but also not weird. Marc Johnson was right about A-Team's product aesthetic, I guess, but I think the kids just care about good skateboarding. I never thought A-Team was wack, I thought it was the shit because of the team. Used to watch that A-Team part with the Rockwell song all the time, that shit was dope as fuck. Chet Thomas did that halfcab back nosegrind 180 out on the handrail at the end, all in one fluid motion like a full cab; that shit is still insane.
