Skated the Barnyard when it came out. As Mike said, "I didn't just skate the Barnyard". Once I rode the Barnyard into the ground, I went out and got the Mike V serpent (shaped) deck. The barnyard was a HUGE step for board shapes.

My first double tail as well. My mom got it for me one day on a trip to santa Cruz from SF and like an idiot I butchered it in my dads work shop, trying to round out the nose, not knowing a few years away it would become my all time favorite type of deck. I even got it with neon yellow see through grip haha! I must find another. Mike V forever, true soul skater!

So that’s weird, randomly search to see if I can see an image of my old board and there’s a 25 minute KZbin video talking about it. I only ever saw the one I had, East Yorkshire in 1989 wasn’t exactly a Mecca for skateboarding.

after the VISION generic team deck, Vallely's board was the FIRST proper modern board (twin tails). I was there. It ruled. After that it, was nothing else. To Learn Mullins invented it, makes sense.

It’s so funny to me. I had all those big 80s board and could do kickflips and heelflips, but I remember buying a Mullen freestyle board because I wanted to try freestyle and remember telling my buddies I wish my big board had a nose the same as the tail. And they just laughed at me. I quit skating right before this barnyard deck came out. So funny how close I was to what I wanted if I had stuck with it a little longer

Just bought the BarnBolt which is supposed to have the original shape. Received it today. It looks sick as hell. It looks like a shape that I'm going to like. Looking forward to skating it.

I do remember that being the first double kick, and wanted that board badly. The ad for that board was Mike Vallely doing a mute grab over a standing trash can.

I started skating right around when Mike was going pro for Powell. Maybe a bit earlier. I was still skating in 2002, when all we had were basically one shape. so I also saw the shaped board movement coming back. retro shapes. But, they're right, I was only 23-24 in 2002 and I didn't want any other shapes. I was at the prime of my "skating career" . LOL Now, I love a good 9 or 10 with big fat wheels 58- 60mm. Kinda the in between.

I've never even skated but this podcast and its format have become a rabbit hole. If we could have the videos or photos of tricks discussed aired in real-time that would be my only critique. I probably mess up your algorithm by leaving videos to look them up lol.

Didn’t Rocco bribe someone to get the boardshape mould from the Vision “Double Vision” or is that some weird rumor?
@mr_ozzio50953 жыл бұрын
They bought a load of the blank VISON d/k decks in bulk for super cheap, then tweeked the shape till they settled on rounded nose version and double kick..the rest in history😎

Double seven, we was hoping. Really juicy for a bread box. and all the wheels with Gullwing trucks. Baker was light when it was 90's black label, so don't do the plastic but light and versatile. Black Label got into shipping the earthwing longer street model which is quite handsome sweet.

8:45 who is buying the flip though? the true collector right? It gets there eventually man. You are actually punishing them in the long run. Someone who really loves your product has an even harder time getting that older original stuff if your knocking it down from the gate. The more rare and limited the more hype. You are thinking backward my man. Flooding the market is what takes away from the secondhand guy not limiting it. Good example, Supreme
