This is a kid called Akeras Overlingas. His dad, who is really at fault here imo, paid NMS to lose to akeras to inflate his rating, and i think akeras also got kicked out of the National Scholastic Chess championship for confirmed cheating. The dad has a yt channel called 'Akeras Planet' that, ironically, he goes on rants about cheating in chess and his suspicions about Akeras' otb opponents. Basically the dad's bad behavior has clearly rubbed off on Akeras.

@@eliasvonbrille hikaru was unlucky, with some moves that the machine understood better. ben finegold bet it in first try in alapin. i'm only about 2150, but the game was about 3 hours + lunch break to compensate for my strenght and it played into my prep

I think it was just an AI , he kept playing the same moves, same mistakes , AI gets a lil better every game it plays

@@victor6010 Mate he clearly wasn't cheating here at all. Do you know how hard it is to put in all moves while playing THIS fast and accurately but with own moves just to keep open the option for cheats? That's MUCH harder than just playing on your own. If he can do that he could adopt Hikaru without cheats. In fact it's probably barely physically possible at this speed and lvl.

@@unknownname6519 Yes but it's relevant to the Video if he cheated in this Game or not. Everybody can beat a cheater while they are not cheating. He was playing legit here so the fact that he has cheated in the past is completely irrelevant to this Game.

@@mlad5274 yeah, I mean did you see the eval bar throught out every game, Hikaru was never worse. Hikaru has always said he can’t beat stock fish that it’s almost impossible and then he plays a 10-0 run vs stock fish, and in more then half of these games the guy had to resign due to such a bad position so yeah pretty obvious. Considering Hikaru also said this guy wasn’t that good and it should be pretty easy to adopt him after playing a few games, you think that sounds like he’s playing a computer playing top moves. I mean when you see hikaru play a cheater he’s struggling and stunned by the moves and most of the time Hikaru has to resign and struggles just to draw which was not even close to the case in these games. No suspicious moves, no suspicious time and not once was he surprised or didn’t understand a move which means it was just a very normal ordinary game and if you go to the reviews of the games there were a decent amount of blunders and incorrect moves and the accuracy wasn’t impressive. You think a guy playing at 79 percent and 80 percent looks like a cheater? so yeah I say pretty obvious

There is a big misconception in chess cheating, that, just because he lost or he played 'badly', he therefore wasn't cheating.n fact if you look at any cheaters profile, you will see that from time to time they probably lose and play terribly. This is not true. He might've been using a relatively weak early version of stockfish or mixing in a lot of his own moves or both.

@@stark_syndrome7857Cheaters don’t just copy Stockfish for every single move LOL, they would get banned within minutes of creating their account if they were dumb enough to do that. These cheaters made it all the way to the top level because they were smart and knew the perfect moments to use an engine. They will make natural moves every now and then, but sometimes they make mistakes with their natural moves and once that happens, the engine can’t save them against a top player like Hikaru. Stockfish is much better than Hikaru, but one single blunder or bad enough mistake is enough for Hikaru to beat Stockfish.

What kind of bs clickbait is this? He clearly wasn't cheating at all here. Playing way too strong but Human Moves way too fast. Much faster than it's even possible to put in Moves into the engine. And natural to the point where it's clearly human.

Because sometimes there are positions in which stockfish calculates that the best thing to do is go for a draw, and since these are blitz games, in low time and high pressure sometimes the opponent makes the wrong moves which unstables their positions making them lose the game

Because to beat a player on Hikaru’s caliber, you would need to play the top engine line in every move. The cheater wasn’t trying to make it obvious and get himself banned, so he used some natural moves against Hikaru for certain parts of the game, and those natural moves were enough for Hikaru to beat the cheater. Stockfish can’t save you against Hikaru if you made a mistake.
