@@tanaelbudiman6392 Totally agree. Hans trying to show that lag moved that knight the second time as a an attempt to offer some kind of proof of malfunction reminds me of a guy I used to golf with--if he hit a bad shot he would always blame his clubs, and then he'd childishly hit another shot purposely bad as proof of how "bad" the equipment was, and that he couldn't play with it anymore. Another friend of mine finally had enough of the complaining and grabbed the "bad" club and nailed a great shot and the guy left the course immediately. In the same vein, I wish Magnus had switched computers with him and continued smoking him--that would have been the nail in the coffin of this nonsense.

Just look at Hikaru's video on how most GM makes a huge leap around the age from 18-21. He is basically a child being attacked from the whole world and he at the end did make a breakthrough. Please make videos like this more often, I would argue even daily there are many chess news that fly over our heads. I need to watch something while I work. Even if you don’t think this kind of series could work, I’m sure it will, people want more of chess and there are not options like this.

i wish they would put little pictures of the player on the chess pieces. it would make it a lot easier to tell who is winning.

I’m a relative noob to the chess world, only really watching ChessTube (cramling, Botez, Magnus, Gotham) for about 2 or 3 months. I had never heard of Hans Niemann until today 😂😂😂

Magnus vs Niemann can be summed in this quick dialog from TFOC Starscream (Niemann): WHO DARES DISRUPT MY CORONATION?" Megatron (Magnus): Coronation, Starscream? This is BAD COMEDY!

Hans is very similar to Bobby Fischer in his behavior. Only difference is Bobby’s cocky behavior was completely valid, Hans is just embarrassing himself

And then REALLY humbled Alireza. I honestly believe Magnus stopped trying in the final round intentionally. He already had a commanding lead and proved his point. He just couldn't wait to get out of that room.

By now, Hans is a journey man in the chess world, never to make it to top 5. This was basically his last hourra because at this point, everyone has seen what he is made of. Now it's time to give space to actual young very strong players (Vincent Keymer, Prag, Alireza, Erigaisi).

The whole hans discussion is just weird. Seems like some people think he should retire at 21 for some weird reason and some people think he will be the next world champion. Both are just weird statements to make. He is very good just not at the very top right now. He isnt going to retire nor was this his last hurrah but he isnt anywhere close to being a world champion either.
@toddtrimble25554 ай бұрын
@@Wulture Absolutely. Hans is ambitious and phenomenally talented (as Magnus recognizes) and will no doubt grow stronger, but just how much remains to be seen.
@yellowphoenix98034 ай бұрын
I think it's a little crazy to say he won't accomplish anymore, seeing as 4th in the SCC is an amazing accomplishment, and he's 2740 classical, but his chances of becoming world champion seem far off, and his ego is a little strange. But then again, this is almost exactly what hikaru was like at this age

Lance Stephenson is a notable troll in the NBA. His biggest moment comes from blowing in the ear of LeBron James during a playoff game. Not that it effected Lebron, but simply ammused him. The fact Magnus Carlsen knows Lance Stephenson and made that reference is downright hilarious.
