@ chess is all that matters. It’s not like 2100 is above my skill, it’s just that I was learning the Catalan and dropped 100+ points of elo from losing by just playing a new opening

I can tell you that it's always happen, when you start to play new opening, you take some risk as you aren't familiar with the ideas, plans and such For example when I started to play Najdorf, I lost a lot of games in a row, but then I learned better and improved
